A headache that's what he called it but Crosshair was sure it was something else, he smiled watching Hunter out of his element. It was almost like watching a baby take their first steps for the first time. Crosshair couldn’t help but laugh at the rest of the bad batch who looked at him with bewildered expressions. The same batch who struck fear in their enemy was struggling to put a nappy on his son, the sniper was having to much fun watching the struggling members. Echo and Fives were arguing over how to put it on while Tech examined the material of the nappy. Wrecker just kept pulling faces at his nephew while Hunter struggled.

It was only when the newborn let out a cry that Crosshair pushed past his teammates, he watched the bewildered expressions appear on their faces as he re-dressed his son. The one who still needed a name.

“No fair! You have experience” Wrecker whined which was cut short as Crosshair hummed to settle his son who was wrapped in a blanket to make him comfortable while he rested in Crosshairs armoured arms. Hunter only smiled at his love who would soon be showing him all the tricks to parenthood. Crosshair sat himself on the edge of the bed where Cal, Honey and Ashton were asleep, he continued to hum the familiar tune that calmed not only his son but himself too.

“So you thought of a name yet?” Echo asked from where he leaned against the wall with Tech leaning on him, the two finally comfortable with sharing their relationship. Wrecker smiled at the two from his position on the sofa with Hera and Omega, the two girls asleep on one side of the sofa. Hunter smiled down at him, trusting him to make the decision. “No pressure or anything but the boys have been making bets” Fives admitted out-loud from the doorway. Crosshair glared at him for the loud-volume, the arc trooper apologised silently.

“Cross?” The sniper looked up to meet Hunter’s worried expression, Crosshair couldn’t really blame him, he had been zoning out quite often that the batch were beginning to worry but it was due to his brain healing from the recent mental battle. With a sigh, Crosshair looked down at his son and said, “Archer”.

“I love it” Hunter said with a smile as he lifted the sniper's chin and kissed him. Crosshair bit Hunter’s lip in warning, the sergeant chuckled wrapping his arms around his love to pull him close. Without realising it Crosshair drifted off into the land of dreams. Hunter smiled, he gestured for Echo to take his son, the arc-trooper did just that, allowing Hunter to lift Crosshair into his arms and place him down on the spare sofa. Tech was quick to place a blanket over him. Whether this was a good or bad idea, they would find out soon enough.

Six hours later…

Hunter was ready to pull his hair out so were the rest of the batch. Baby Archer had been crying for over an hour now, they had even gone to Kix but the medic asked not to be disturbed unless it was an emergency. The bad batch obviously distrubed him and they received a reply of ‘Nothing is wrong with him, he will eventually cry himself to sleep’ and with that said the door was slammed shut on their face. However, that was over an hour ago. The batch were dead worried.

“What else can we do?!” Fives complained looking at Echo who only frowned at the screaming baby in Hunter’s arms, the sergeant looked ready to call it quits. “I suggest we wake Crosshair up” Tech said from where he wore his helmet which slightly dampened the noise but not by much. Considering Archer was screaming. The batch had even asked for help from Rex and Ahsoka, the two tried to help but the screaming drove them away. Shaak Ti, Obi-one, Cody, Howzer and Wolffe were currently away in meetings so they couldn’t exactly ask for help in that retrospective.

All eyes turned to the bad batch leader who sighed, giving up. He gestured for Wrecker to go and get Crosshair. Not even five minutes later, the marksman appeared looking exhausted, he took Archer from the stressed out Hunter and walked away from the room. Crosshair knew something the others didn’t and soon it would all make sense. The bad batch slumped as they heard the crying die down. Hunter put his head in his hands, he felt terrible. What type of parent couldn’t even calm their own child down? Before any dark thoughts could assault his brain, someone lifted his head up. Hunter looked up in surprise when he saw Crosshair staring back at him, the first thing Hunter noticed was Archer was missing.
