For what felt like the hundredth time Crosshair rolled his eyes listening to his brother blabber on about his health and the dangers of the universe. It was almost like he wasn’t there and it was starting to majorly annoy him now. The sniper had more knowledge about his own health than them all put together, yet there he sat quietly allowing Kix to take some bloods while he fed his son, the one who still needed a name.

“Have any ideas yet?” Hunter’s voice drifted down towards him from where the batch leader stood with Rex and Cody just a few steps in front of him. The sniper wasn’t in the mood to answer so he just shook his head which made a frown appear on Hunter’s face. Cody and Rex shared a look at the marksman of the bad batch who seemed to sit with a permanent scowl on his face. They weren’t the only ones to notice it, Tech looked up from his conversation with Echo and Wrecker, the three instantly noticing the mood change in the room.

“All done now, please take it easy” Kix said to Crosshair who softened his scowl towards the medic who gave him a small smile in return. Kix couldn’t blame Crosshair for getting frustrated at his batch or everyone as the past three hours they had all been hovering and Obi-one had caused an argument with the sniper already so Crosshair was still in a foul mood from that. The jedi claimed Crosshair was still working for the Empire since he found Crosshair’s private commline lying about in his gear, why the Jedi was searching through his gear confused the marksman but Crosshair held his tongue through the argument. He certainly wasn’t ready to explain whose commline that belonged to or why he stayed in touch, he did however tell the Jedi to back off.

Hunter and Rex got involved telling the two to settle it but Obi-one only complied because the children entered the room. Instead he promised their argument was not over, Crosshair couldn’t care less. He would gladly shoot the jedi again if it got his point across. Once the medical equipment was taken from his body, Crosshair wasted no time in walking into the refresher with his son in his arms and shut the door firmly behind him. Crosshair just needed some time to himself, he allowed his head to come in contact with the door behind him as he sank down to the floor allowing the inside tears to spill. He pulled his son close to him as he fought back the sobs, he had almost died and that would mean his son would be raised by the idiots on the other side of the door who couldn’t even tell what their actions were doing to the sniper. Although it was all in his head, Crosshair had to somehow work out how to push them aside or ignore them. Personally he was still battling the side effects from the chip, not that he would tell the others. He suspected that Obi-one had picked up on it from his body language, he tried to not flinch when order 66 was mentioned but he couldn’t help it. Looking down at his son, memories would flicker in his vision of the amount of families he killed while under the control of the chips, the innocents slain at his hand. Some parts of him really didn’t really think he deserved his family while other parts of him were glad he had the opportunity for a second chance.

Carefully Crosshair made his way across the refresher, he grabbed some small tub and began to fill it with water and grab the small hygiene products that Kix had recommended for his son's skin. A knock on the door behind him, jolted him from his thoughts. “Cross, it’s me. Can I come in?” Hunter’s soft voice broke through the barrier of the door, sighing to himself, he reached over to the door and clicked it open. He smiled inwardly at the startled Hunter who carried Crosshair’s armour and spare blacks. Hunter took the open door as an invite into the refresher, he was quick to shut the door behind him. Once the click was heard signalling the door had been locked, Crosshair turned his whole body to face Hunter who frowned at him, the sniper twisted quickly to stop the tap, he felt the water and once deemed warm enough. He stripped his son and gently placed him in the water, with a skilled hand behind his back. Hunter watched mesmerised over Crosshair’s shoulder as the lethal marksman washed their son without a care in the world, he was so stuck in a trance that he didn’t see or hear what Crosshair had asked. Something came in contact with his face, Hunter soon found himself unable to see.
