Past Memory - The missing story:

After the explosion on the platform, Crosshair had quickly taken a dive into the raging waters of Kamino, he was not too far from the labs that held his children in. He knew there would only be a matter of time before he was captured by the Empire but if all worked out, his plan would work. After about ten minutes of swimming, he arrived at an opening in the raging seas, it was a very well hidden tube that blended in and took a trained eye to see. Crosshair thanked the universe he had great eyesight. Soon enough he found himself working his way through the tunnels towards the underwater labs. Crosshair headed for a door and upon opening it he heard, “I didn’t think you’d be back so soon”

“Didn’t really have much of a choice” Crosshair replied holding his head in pain, a hand came to rest on his shoulder, “Crosshair, you have to find Rex” “I know but…” “Crosshair, I will continue to watch over them, go while you still can. Here is all the data I have on where Captain Howzer is”. “Thanks, Ahsoka”. Crosshair grunted walking over towards his children, Ashton smiled back at him. Gently Crosshair lifted the lid and picked his son up, the brown hair and bright blue eyes stood out from a mild away. There was no mistake in who the father was. “How’s the little one?” Ahsoka asked, gesturing to his stomach, Crosshair grunted, “A pain” The blunt reply made Ahsoka frown, “It's not his fault” “I know, it's Tarkins”. Ahsoka nodded, turning back around, she handed him his spare helmet he had there, it was imperial armour so he didn’t question it.

“Crosshair, I need to pop a message but with Ashton awake and your daughter asleep. I can’t take him”

“Do not worry about it, I have an idea where to take him” Crosshair grunted as pain spread through his stomach, Ahsoka frowned she would have protested but they had to stick to the plan, if they wanted the rest of the locations on the clones.

Soon enough the two found themselves standing in the hangar bay of the underwater labs, Crosshair was standing in front of his favourite ‘Special Forces TIE Fighter’ while Ahsoka was going to use one of the shuttle’s, the two heading in different directions. Crosshair lifted Ashton further into his arms as his son waved off the ex-jedi, the marksman gasped when another shooting pain hit him. He knew what was wrong but he would hope it would wait as he plunged the coordinates into the Tie Fighter, quicker than usual he left the labs with a constant monitor on his comatosed daughter, who he hoped one day would wake from her nap but hopefully when he was there.

A few more hours of pain passed before Crosshair landed the Tie Fighter in an enclosed space, camouflaged by trees. Crosshair quickly grabbed a cloak to hide himself and his son, the boy was fast asleep. Through gritted teeth, Crosshair walked to his destination, an enclosure where a small farm sat. He reached the gate only to be surrounded by villagers with guns.

“Leave now! We don’t like trespassers in our area” A familiar voice made him look up, Crosshair allowed the cloak to fall, he had his helmet attached to his hip but the cloak hid the rest of his armour so when his face came into view. “Stand down! He’s one of us!” The voice called again, it belonged to none other than Suu Lawquane, she smiled at him but the pain must have showed on his face. She gestured for him to follow her so he did. After a few minutes of walking the two reached the house and Suu welcomed him in. “Crosshair?” Cut’s voice broke through his train of thought, the marksman turned to face a long-time friend. “Cut” he gritted out through the pain.

Cut and Suu shared a look as they made their ways to his sides, “Are you alright?” Suu asked, Crosshair shook his head, “I need a favour” “Name it” Cut’s reply made the marksman chuckle through the pain, Crosshair moved the cloak revealing his imperial armour as well as Ashton. The Lawquane’s looked at him in surprise, “Are you sure?” Suu asked, Crosshair nodded. “I will be back for him but…argh…I need someone to watch him while I go on a message” the marksman grunted out. Cut nodded, “Are you in…labour?” Suu asked, Crosshair grunted then nodded. “Crosshair?” “Don’t, I have to return otherwise this will all be for nothing, I have to get to Howzer” A groan left the sniper as he dropped the cloak and placed his helmet on. After a short but stern conversation Crosshair looked over at his son who lay in Suu’s arms fast asleep, he wished it didn’t have to be this way but he had to do this. Cut pulled the marksman in for a hug, the sniper hugged back fiercely. “Crosshair, what do we do? If by any chance the rest of the batch get in contact and you know with Ashton looking identical to Hunter, what do we say?” Crosshair looked at his son one last time as he said, “Tell them the truth but only if you receive the symbol that I am dead. Cut, Suu. I really appreciate this” the sarcastic reply brought a laugh to the room. The two smiled at him and nodded as he shut the door and disappeared into the night, the cloak long forgotten. Cut and Suu watched with sad eyes at their friend who had suffered too much already, they just prayed he would be safe and if he didn’t return within the next two month, Cut would personally go after him.
