(Warning:Miscarriage)
Brown eyes opened to see the moonlight of Crait beaming down on him. Just where was he? Crosshair thought to himself, someone shifted him to his right. Looking across he saw a campfire and the bad batch surrounding it. The Havok Marauder was parked nearby, just why wasn't he on the ship. The sniper frowned when he heard sniffling, there was weight against his arm. Looking down he saw Ashton looking at him with his bright blue eyes.
"Ash?" Crosshairs voice was barely a whisper but his son picked up on it. "Daddy?" Crosshair smiled, Ashton had never spoken before, he must have really scared him. He lifted his arm so his son could snuggle closer, the dark of the night hiding his face from anyone watching. No one knew he was awake yet.
Shifting slightly, Crosshair sat up, pulling his son closer, Ashton snuggled deeply into the sniper's chest. He grunted when Ash pulled slightly on his bandages, his grunt was heard nearby by none other than the batch leader. Hunter was half way into a conversation with Tech when something alerted him to the side. Looking over he gasped out loud when piercing brown eyes met silver shocked ones. Hunter scrambled over quickly, making a fool out of himself according to Wreckers laugh.
"Cross?" Hunter's whisper held so much disbelief in, it confused the sniper who nodded in acknowledgement. Hunter frowned, he kissed his sniper deeply before he spoke, "We have got to stop meeting like this". Crosshair smiled at Hunter's intended joke, it was filled with so much love, the sniper thought it must have hurt so much to say it.
"Daddy?" A small voice broke them apart, Hunter wore a shocked face which prompted a laugh out of Crosshair although hoarse it was great to hear. Ashton just smiled at his parents, he knew he could speak the whole time. In a sense he just chose not to. Crosshair looked down at his son and nodded, Ashton smiled scrambling to his feet over to Wrecker who had a sleepy Omega in his arms. The giant watched as his nephew came into view and shook Omega awake before moving onto Cal and Honey. The four children had a small whispered conversation until all their faces brightened and they looked in the sniper and leaders direction.
Hunter smirked, pulling his lover closer. The sniper let out a happy noise as he snuggled closer to Hunter's chest. "Cross?". "Yes Hunter". "Please don't ever do that again". The sniper looked up in confusion, he tilted his head allowing Hunter to continue, "I know I can't stop everything you do, due to your stubbornness Cross. But this time I really thought I had lost you. Omega told me about what Rampart did and then to find you half-awake clinging desperately to life. It terrified me that I might have actually lost you this time. I can't stand the fact of you leaving me. I wish I could take back what I did, which was leave you behind but I…I…". Hunter couldn't finish as he buried his head into the sniper's bruised neck and cried.
Crosshair frowned all this time, he had known Hunter had held his head up high and didn't allow anything to affect him. Crosshair knew Hunter had just bottled his feelings up a bit like the way the sniper did. This just showed Crosshair how much he loved this man and how much Hunter loved him. Gently, Crosshair reached up and pulled Hunter in for a soul crushing hug. The leader of the bad batch desperately clung to his partner with all his might.
After a few moments, Hunter pulled away only to meet the blissful expression of his partner. Crosshair had his eyes closed as he hummed a very familiar tune that had helped Hunter over the years especially when he suffered with any nightmares or more likely migraines. Hunter admired his partner for being so stubborn sometimes too stubborn but he wouldn't have the sniper any other way.
"Cross?"
"Hmmm" Brown almost golden eyes opened to meet polished silver. Crosshair wore a peaceful expression as he looked up at his love who remained kneeling over him.
