“Why am I always the one saving you, Captain?” The voice of none other than Commander Cody reached all their ears, and Rex smiled, allowing himself to relax.
“Cody!” Fives cheered before slamming into his chest. Cody smirked hugging his brother back. Jesse decided to join in the hug, ignoring Cody’s grunt, Havok smirked, remaining next to Rex since he didn’t want to get on the bad side of Cody.
“You want to explain, how you managed to obtain that?” Rex asked, pointing at the Venator-class Star Destroyer.
Cody smiled, “One word - Wolffe”. Rex smirked knowing his older brother was very persuasive.
“Follow me, boys” Cody looked at them all before noticing Ahsoka and Omega’s sharp looks, “And ladies…anyway. The Havok Marauder can follow behind” Tech nodded listening to Cody who sheepishly smiled at the two females.
Soon enough, the group split off. Clone Force 99 headed for the Havok Marauder. The ship was silent as all of them mourned. “Captain?” Rex turned around to meet Hunter. “Do what you have to Hunter, we shall wait”. Hunter nodded, and he moved over to Tech. “Set a course for Cid’s Parlour, we need to pick up the children”. Tech nodded, looking at Wrecker who moved into the co-pilot seat. “Do you have room for two more?” Hunter turned to see Echo and Fives. He nodded. “Hunter, I’m…” Hunter shook his head, hugging Echo to his chest as the door shut and Tech took off in the direction of Cids.
Fives stood unaware of where to sit. Omega directed him to sit on Echo’s bunk while she herself cuddled into Echo’s side. It only took a few minutes for the batch to arrive but they gasped in horror when Cid’s building was on fire and the trandoshan nowhere to be found. “No!” Hunter cried out, dropping to his knees when he picked up a familiar teddy, Lula. Honey had the teddy last time. “Hunter, we have to go!” Echo urged his brother who nodded, allowing himself to be dragged back to the ship.
Tech took over controls flying quickly in the direction of the Venator-class Star Destroyer. Soon the group found themselves in the hangar bay filled with other ships. Omega’s eye widened at the sight of all the different ships, she gasped at who she saw standing beside Rex.
“Hunter!” the Sargeant didn’t look up, Omega grabbed his hand but he pulled back.
“Omega, leave him for a bit” Echo soothed, Omega frowned, opening the door and launching down the stairs. “Omega!” Tech cried out only to gasp at who stood at the bottom of the stairs with Rex. He took off in that direction.
Wrecker caught a glance and he was running out, forgetting about his sad state. He didn’t care anymore. Laughter could be heard, Hunter cried silently to himself. Echo frowned looking out, he gasped. “Hunter! You're going to want to see this”. The Sargeant ignored him, Fives frowned, looking at his twin. The two shrugged leaving Hunter alone, knowing he would come out on his own.
Hunter frowned, what didn’t the batch get?'' He had lost his kids and his lover in the past day, could they not leave him alone for a moment. Growling to himself, Hunter threw Crosshair’s pistol across the room, he watched it shatter. He cried out, no!.
“Papa?” a surprisingly small voice made him look up. Involuntarily tears left his eyes but he didn’t care. There standing in front of him was Honey. Kneeling down he pulled the daughter he thought he had lost into his arms. Something pulled on his armour, looking down Hunter saw Ashton. He picked up his son as well. If this was a dream he wished to never wake up again. Giggling came from the doorway revealing Omega who smiled at him, he opened his arms and she joined the cuddle pile. The bad batch watched from below, their sergeant was happy again.
