Though he was quiet at lunchtime, Hotaka was on board with whatever (Y/n) had planned. She could tell that much through his silence. If he firmly rejected it, he would have found another way to talk her out of it. As such, she continued the day normally, not knowing that the purple-haired male stared at her relentlessly. He couldn't find an excuse to stop and though he couldn't find one to continue either, he still stared. Even when she exited a room, he rested his eyes in the direction in which she had gone, completely blank.

"Hey," Kenko hummed, poking at the male's shoulder, "Did you finally develop PTSD?"

Hotaka found it difficult to respond to his friend when he found himself drowning in guilt. He nervously tapped his foot on the ground, his leg twitching as if he was going to run after her at any time. Having learned quite quickly that every time she left his sight he couldn't stop worrying, it was unnerving to have to focus on other things. The Major had long since vanished, presumably to pick up his daughter from school, so it felt as if another layer of protection had been taken away from her.

"Well...if you're not going to eat, there's no point in wasting this delicious cake - "

As the brunette reached out to grab for his friend's tray, he found his hand smacked away, Hotaka hoarding it to himself. Grumpily, he turned around from the cafeteria table and placed the tray on his lap so he could continue eating while looking at the door where (Y/n) had left through. By no means had the purple-haired male ever been normal - most prodigies that way - but his actions that day were incredibly curious to the older boy. Not eating his precious meal, staring seemingly nowhere, without a smile on his face, all of it was strange. Placing his elbow on the male's shoulder, Kenko tried to gaze where he was, only to remain baffled.

"Um, did someone mess with your code, or what?"

"He's not a robot," Sitri mumbled quietly, munching on some tiramisu, "You should leave him alone."

"Hm? Should I pick on my precious little angel, then? Sure thing!"

Sitting next to the black-haired girl, Kenko put aside his friend's strange behavior in favor of making the quiet one in their group uncomfortable. Most days, she was practically a ghost. Determined to give her more attention than she wanted, he copied her every action. With every scoot she tried to take away from him, the male just pushed himself closer to her, his smile widening every time. Mischievous though he was, Sitri put up with him, trying to see the extent he would follow her. Ultimately, it was very far. So she suddenly stopped, ignoring him while he played with her curly hair.

"I don't enjoy this."

"Do you hate it?"

"I guess not."

"Then it's fine, isn't it? I'll return the favor later, so just let me have my fun."

Sitri had a flash in her eyes of excitement, gazing up at the male with a grin. It was almost sadistic, the way it could be at times. For however much trouble the brunette caused her, she surely made to get some kind of concessions for it. Pulling out a piece of paper, the girl shoved it in the male's face, making sure he read before continuing to touch her hair. Though reluctant and with a pout, he did do so, flinching when he read a particular part of the document.

"You do fine with needles as long as we strap you down, right?" she mumbled, tenting her fingers together.

"Y-You're a mad scientist, Sitri."

"I'm glad you're such an easy volunteer. I needed at least one person for the lab next week."

"Can't you use Hotaka? He won't feel the needle at all. He's got tough skin. He's - "
