The night was short, probably thanks to the heated bed, thick duvet, and excellently soft sheets. Although the bed back at the Yasojiro estate was nothing to scoff at, the technology embedded into every aspect the Akiyama's home made it so much more unique. Rising from the bed, she stretched her arms behind her back, giving a rested yawn. She was surprised to find a spare set of clothes for her already placed on the edge of the bed. Quickly changing into it, she realized that it was not her usual style, nor was it Athainian or Afruan. Instead, it was a style she wasn't familiar with. Regardless, she rather liked it.
"You're an early bird," Kinusu hummed, flipping over a crepe in the kitchen, "Hungry yet?"
"Not really, but if you put it on a plate, I guess I'll eat it. Is your cooking better than your brother's?"
"You bet'cha. Fruit or chocolate?"
"Fruit, please."
Sitting down at the table, the younger girl pulled her hair back away from her face, looking down at the newspaper that had been set there. Since there was both one in the spot she knew Ryota typically sat in and one that she recalled his after having sat at, she assumed it was a daily habit for them to read in the morning. As such, curious to see what was going on, she picked it up, burying her nose in it for any interesting information.
"Like the outfit?" the ravenette hummed, sitting down next to her after placing down her crepe.
"It's nice. Comfy, too."
"Great to hear that. Umayena does well with snow, considering it's located near the top of the globe, so their clothes are usually nice for winter."
"Oh, that's right. Ryota mentioned that's where your father came from."
"Our mother, too. It was a piece of shit country, but the culture makes my father happy, so I don't see an issue with celebrating a few bits and pieces of it."
"Like clothes?"
"And food! Can't get through a week without dumplings, but...no one can make it here, so we have special chefs for that. Ryota avoids them like the plague. Though I'm sure you know why. He said he hired you for help in that regard. He's a fu - Ahem, he's an idiot, so don't think of him like a boss, alright? I'd much rather you get all lovey-dovey with him."
(Y/n) raised an eyebrow. Of course, she had only been trying to grab him by the collar for weeks at that point, but he didn't seem to budge. Either he was extremely dense when it came to her hitting on him or he was completely ignoring it. However, considering his inability to lie without completely giving himself away, it seemed to be the former. Truth be told, she was on the verge of a crossroads. It might have been a bit futile to keep pursuing him, but hopefully, the trip to the Vethelan art exhibition would give her an indication of whether to continue her pursuit or not.
"You are very interested in having me as a sister-in-law, aren't you?" she teased, watching as the male gave a shameless smirk, "What's your offer? As you know, I am 'engaged' to Shota Yasojiro, a family of 'prestige'. It may be hard for me to walk away from that life without ample compensation."
"Oh, forget them! We can give you way more, promise! In fact, I can offer you premier access to the latest technology from our company. I'm sure you've enjoyed your stay here with our state-of-the-line tablets, heated lounges, etc. You can have as many as you want."
"See, but can't money afford that for me? Besides, the Yasojiro family has run a technology business far longer than the Akiyama family."
"And failed at it. Don't get me wrong, they're rich and they're from a long line of noble douches, but have you noticed how quickly we've become a fatal threat to them? They're dried up. Besides, if it's money you want, everyone in the family gets a very hefty allowance every month, too. I can't give away the exact number just yet, but it is in the six digits for adults. And if you work in the company as well, it bumps up to seven."
