Hotaka woke up at the younger girl's side, having sat the entire day and night by her bed, his memories of the previous day hazy, at best. Thankfully, his body had recovered from the complete loss of energy he had experienced. That being said, no matter how hard he tried, he couldn't recall anything that happened before the strange woman came. Instead, the only thing that he earned from forcing himself to remember was a massive migraine. If he did take away one thing from the previous night, however, it would be the absolute terror she exhibited.
In many ways, he felt great guilt. He hadn't caused her fear nor did he fully understand the scope of it, but the few things he did know about her past made him hesitate. It wasn't out of the ordinary for victims of abuse and neglect to exhibit a tendency to become violent. In fact, as he thought more about it, it made a little more sense why she would attack the disciplinary chief. After all, she was under the assumption that what he did harmed someone she held close to her, something that made him a bit bashful at the thought. Her rage also made sense, since she was probably incredibly frustrated at people intruding on the things she held dear.
Still, she had killed, and he needed to accept that. Though, in a strange twist of fate, he decided to withhold the evidence pointing to her as the murderer. She would only have been locked up in prison for twenty-five years, just as she had been for the first nineteen years of her life. They wouldn't have helped her and she just would have gotten worse. What she really needed was someone to protect her but let her be free at the same time. Unfortunately, the few number of options with that specific care weren't available for her. He was at a crossroads.
The younger male perked his head up at the sound of something moving. He had hoped she had woken up and was doing better, but it was, instead, the door, swinging open to reveal Ryota. The male seemed upset, narrowing his eyes at the presence of his bodyguard. Hotaka understood. It definitely wasn't proper for him to be alone with her in her room. Flinching, he panicked, wondering if she would be upset at him for not asking permission. Even if she was completely blacked out, as someone with a background in noble society, it was definitely wrong of him. That was especially since she and Ryota were romantically involved, or so he suspected.
"How long have you been here?" the older of the two murmured, giving a suspicious glance between the younger male and the bed, "Why do I even have to question this? You're not even on shift this week."
Hotaka gave a shame-filled frown, not making eye contact with the older male. Maybe that was why he seemed so discontent with his reaction. It was so easy to sniff out insecurity, and when that insecurity was about something Ryota had surmised belonged to him, he could hardly let it pass. Well, it would be more accurate for the older male to claim he was responsible for her, not in ownership of, but it went both ways, or so he thought. To him, they were both part of the relationship, but he didn't know her like Shota or a certain ex-vice president student council member.
"She had another episode," the purple-haired male sighed, refraining from putting a strand of loose hair behind her ear.
"What?! Why wouldn't you tell me right away?!"
Completely thrown out of it by the sudden bit of crucial information, the older male sat down on the bed and began to assess her. She still hadn't woken up - far from it - but he was determined to ensure she would, eventually. His knowledge of her condition was just as bad as Hotaka's. They were both throwing things to the wall and hoping they would stick, but the only other thing they could do was ask Yasojiro, and that wasn't considered an option. At least, it wasn't for the green-haired male, but the younger of the two debated it, widely on the fence for a lot of things. It didn't use to be like that.
"You didn't call a doctor? Or tell anyone? You just...left her to lay here for Theion to take at any moment?!"
"She doesn't do good with people when she's like that. I just thought it would help her more if - "
