Before Hotaka knew it, the championship game had arrived. He had been rushing around the whole day long with the rest of the team, practicing and preparing for the intense fight they had ahead of them. Oddly enough, the team was confused why the younger male had been giving so much attention to them. Usually, he would be split between all of his responsibilities, including his work in the Hatano Society. That being said, there were rumors that he hadn't attended his special classes for quite some time. Of course, they weren't complaining.

Instead, the group invited the purple-haired male to any events they had planned, scheming to get the most out of their time with him. And in their time spent with him, they were amazed to learn that he had succeeded in getting the younger girl to attend the game. Suddenly, it made sense why he was so eager to practice, and obviously, they were doing all they could to tease him relentlessly.

On the day of the game, the boys were gathered around, eating their lunch. The school had splurged on it for them, but their stipulation was that it had to be fueling. Though a few complained about it, the food was delicious all the same, and since it was free, most were satisfied. Either way, the free time allowed them to press the purple-haired male a little more. And, for the reason that he had never had an actual crush before, it was really addictive to see him flare up.

"Have you seen her today? I bet she dressed up all cute for you."

"What are you talking about, you idiot? Everyone's wearing uniforms. I want to know where she's sitting."

"Obviously, in the front. She's going to cheer him on and make us all jealous, right?"

Hotaka's bashfulness saw no end, the male continually burning up out of embarrassment. He didn't understand why exactly it made his heart beat so quickly to hear other people talking about them like a couple. Either way, he did his best to downplay his relationship with the (h/c) haired girl. To the best of his understanding, she was still with the green-haired male, the two of them what he presumed to be boyfriend and girlfriend.

Soon enough, it was time for the game, and the purple-haired male felt a knot in his stomach during warmups. His eyes kept trailing to the spot he had reserved for (Y/n), wondering if she would even show up at all. It made him dread the start of the game. Even though she was by no means late, the game still an hour from starting, he kept debating whether she really wanted to see him or not. It wasn't like she had any obligation, and, to be certain, Ryota wouldn't have liked it.

However, to his utter shock, when Kenko and Sitri joined, the younger girl was happily chatting with the two of them. Immediately, the male blushed, his entire body becoming stiff. He was so out of it that he wasn't paying attention, a ball smacking him in the face. Though Sudo, who had thrown the ball, apologized profusely, making sure the male was alright. That being said, when his teammates realized he was out of it because the (h/c) haired girl had arrived, they began snickering, making kissy faces and the like.

"I'll say this once," Kenko huffed, bringing his food closer to his chest, "I'm not sharing, so don't even think about it."

"Why would I want those greasy foods?" the ravenette huffed, smacking the male's hand away from her hair, "Just keep your stupid eyes on the game and shut up."

The (h/c) haired girl snickered, taking the nameplate off of the chair Hotaka saved for her. From the looks of it, he hadn't been the one to make the sign. Rather, with the amount of hearts and XOs, his teammates definitely made it for him. She would be sure to show him later just to see him squirm a bit. The girl had to admit that one of the best things about him was his bashfulness and naivety when it came to interpersonal relationships.

The game started with a bang, the first up to hit their best runner - Dhian. As the visitor team, they had to make sure they started off with a flexible lead, and they did just that. They went all the way down the lineup, the purple-haired male extremely nervous. He kept hitting his foot with the bat to distract himself from the younger girl's eyes on him. Some part of him hoped that they would get three outs before he had to go up to bat, but things didn't work out that way.
