Ari's POV 🌸
It's been a few hours, and I still can't believe I'm on set for a music video. It's not that I'm fangirling in a typical way; it's more of me reflecting on how I was folding clothes in a department store every day just a few months ago, and I had lost my luster for life.
It really makes me pause and assess how my life has changed over the past few months. I'm doing work I love. I've started seeing the wonderful therapist Joonie referred me to, and I'm learning how to cope with the loss of my mother. My anxiety attacks have been lessening with the new strategies I'm learning to manage stress, and now I'm here on set watching the people I care about the most in the world do what they are passionate about.
Yoongi and I were led to some director chairs out of the way, and we've been watching as Joon and Lily work. I'm super proud that they ran with my music video concept. It's fun to watch them acting, and even though Lily protested about how much she hates doing stuff like this when we were in the car on the way over, she is nothing but the consummate professional on set.
Lily is on the sound stage, her hair and makeup done, dressed in a long, jade-colored dress, and I hear Yoongi sigh.
"She looks beautiful," I say quietly to Yoongi.
"She's always stunning, but I rarely get to see her like this, so it's a real treat." He's quite proud of Lily and it's cute to see Yoongi, who can sometimes be stoic, lit up like the sun.
"Hey, have I missed much?" A voice says quietly in my ear, and I look to see Hobi pulling up a chair.
"They shot all this morning but they are just starting with a different wardrobe and set," Yoongi explains quietly.
"That's great, Lily. Hold your place there!" The director calls. "Can we have Namjoon on set now, please!"
Joon comes out with a perfectly tailored suit and tie, and I begin to quietly quiver. He looks so handsome and has been handling himself so well today. Yoongi isn't the only person who is proud of their partner. It's interesting to see how experienced Namjoon is in this realm, and Lily adjusts and takes cues well. I feel like I'm about to burst with pride.
They shoot a few scenes as if they are at an event as a couple, but the story treatment calls for it being a cover for a covert operation. It is a little strange seeing them pretending they are a couple, but I know there is no room for jealousy in this line of work, so I try and push away that human need to want to push away someone you see as a threat.
"Okay, Namjoon, take Lily in your arms, and in a classic pose, I want you to lean her back and then kiss her like you're in love with her," the director calls.
"Hyung, are you jealous yet? Because they make a handsome couple!" Hobi observes.
"Don't be ridiculous," Yoongi complains, but I can see his face contort. It's the same look he gets whenever Lily talks about buying a house.
I stay quiet while people come on and off the set fixing hair and makeup and the marking how far back Joon should tilt Lily back, planning how the camera angles will work. I'm surprised about how much "hurry up and wait" is involved in this process.
When they finally go to shoot the scene, Yoongi rises from his seat, "I need to get some air. I'll be back," he says quietly. A slight frown threatening the corner of his mouth.
"Is he going to be okay?" I ask Hobi under my breath.
"Too much history there, so I think this is a little much for Yoongi, but he knows it is just a shoot. His head and heart are just at odds right now," Hobi whispers matter of factly.
