Chapter Fifty Seven Picnic

Nicks perspective
I waved bye to Tori and Michael as they walked away, when I turned around to see Charlie I could tell he was a bit tired after walking through the amusement park all day. "Char are you tired" I say pulling him into me, he responds "Just a bit how far are we parked" We had to park quite far down the road because the amusement park was pretty busy "It's still quite far, please let me carry you, you seemed drained and don't even dare ask if your too heavy" He smiles and I bend down so he could jump up on my back. I feel his warm body pressed against mine and his small hands gripped on my shoulders. After two minutes of walking his head was now rested on my shoulder and I couldn't be happier to carry him because that ment he was as close to me as possible, I could feel his loving touch against me. We got to the car and I opened the door and placed him in the passenger seat and buckled him in. I got in the car and started it then Charlie spoke "Baby you know I wasn't asleep I could've buckled myself in, but I do appreciate it" I responded "I know you weren't asleep but your tired so you deserve to be pampered" he grabs my hand and brings it up to his face to kiss it "Thank you love, and today was really special" I smile knowing he has no idea that today is far from over it's just getting started. "There's something I don't know isn't there" he questions "Maybe" I say well shrugging my shoulders "You and your surprises Nicolas" he laughs. "Charlie I need to tell you something" He looks at me with a loving expression "You know you can talk to me" I take a breath then say "I love you more than anything like I mean ANYTHING you make my life so special and I honestly can't bare being without you" He puts his hand on my thigh and says "What's going on with you your so lovey today not like you arnt usually but it's extra today" Shit was I giving it away to much "Nothings going on I just feel really lovey dovey and clingy today I guess" He squeezes my thigh lightly "I like it, it's cute" he says. I decided to text my mom and tell her we would be coming in an hour instead of now because I think I need to bring Charlie home for a quick nap before the picnic, he seems exhausted and the doctor informed me to make sure if he feels tired that he listens to his body and gets extra sleep.

Charlie's perspective
We got home after the amusement park and I definitely need to lay down i'm so tired. We walk into our quite apartment and I immediately lay down on the couch "Babe can you grab me the blue fuzzy blanket" I call out to Nick who's in the kitchen. He grabs the blanket and lays it down over me then asks "I know you just laid down but could you get up so I could lay down on the couch then you can come lay on top of me, I really need cuddles" Was that even a question "Yes please" I say getting up and waiting for him to lay down so I could cuddle into him. I was comfiest when I was in his arms. after a few seconds of laying together I was out, but I could still feel his finger running through my hair and down my neck and his gently kisses he was placing on my forehead.

I woke up around 45 minutes later feeling good and ready for the rest of our day we went to the amusement park pretty early so it was only around dinner time now. I gently crawled off Nick who was still passed out on the couch and went to make us some tea. Nick came up behind me as I was grabbing the tea bags from the shelf and he threw me over his shoulder "Tea can wait I have dinner plans" he knows I would much rather sit at home and watch tv with him and eat something he cooked instead of going out to a restaurant, I hate restaurants. "I know you worked really hard to plan today but I really hate restaurants if you don't want to cook we can just get takeout" I say hoping I don't hurt his feelings "I know you better than that Charlie were going somewhere you'll love trust me" My mind jumbles around a few ideas before just accepting the fact that I have no idea what he's planned.

Nicks perspective
We arrived at my house and then Charlie said in an agitated tone "Niiiick you should've told me we were having dinner with your family, I could've worn something nicer and maybe fixed my hair after having a nap" then he starts fixing his hair profusely with his hands. "Just follow me" I say grabbing his hand and leading him through the backyard and then into the field. When we came up to small slippery bridge that towered over the small creek I picked Charlie up like I always did ever since he fell when he was younger "I can't forget our tradition" I say cheerfully as I carry Charlie over the bridge. We walked up through the trees to reveal the picnic that my mom help me set up. "OMG" shrieked Charlie well he admired the flower arrangements "This is amazing Nick why did you do all this" This was the moment I looked Charlie in the eyes and said

"Charlie I love you a lot, I don't think it's possible for anyone to love anybody else more than I love you, You may not realize it but your funny smart caring nice lovable genuine and the perfect and only person for me. Ever since the day I met you I never even thought about not being with you forever, not even once. You asked me to kiss you first, you said I love you first, you initiated our first time sleeping together, so it's finally my turn to do a first, the first step to our forever future together, so what i'm trying to say is I don't have a future without you, it's not my future anymore it's ours because I don't have one without you"

My face was filled with tears now and then I dropped down on one knee.

"Will you marry me Charlie Spring"

Charlie's perspective
When The words Will you marry me came out of his mouth I felt my heart stop I felt like the whole world around us stopped Nick actually did that and he did it absolutely perfectly the day was magical but this was unreal "Yes yes of course I'll marry you I love you more than anything too" I said before he picked me up in his arms and spun me around well saying "He said YES" he then put the ring on my finger and when I saw it, I bursted into tears "It's our promise rings with an engagement band" I said trying not to cry more "Yeah I thought it would be special this way and we never have to stop wearing our promise rings" I couldn't get the right words out for how I felt so I just ran into his arms and hugged the love of my life... my fiancé.
