Chapter 1 Catching up (Nicks point of view)

Charlie looked so adorable when sleeping, his head resting on chest he was so tightly wrapped around me I felt secure and warmth. God I love him, I can't believe it's been 2 years since university, my job has been amazing and my co-workers have been so welcoming. When growing up I would have never thought that I would become a teacher, funny enough Charlie's brother Oliver is one of the reasons I realized I wanted to become a primary teacher and work with the younger generations. This is my first year of being a student teacher and next year will be my last and I can finally  have my own garde 1 classroom. Charlie has just recently started his dental training in the local dental office he's pretty excited. I can feel his soft heartbeat against my skin it's nice hearing his heartbeat  beat so softly instead so intensely like normal i wish i could help him be less uptight and stressed all the time i can see the toll it takes on him. OMG its 11 am in the morning and Charlie is still sleeping, he has been having pretty restless nights I could feel him tossing turning all night most of the time. This past week he has been sleeping really well since our pharmacist Mark has proscribed him those sleeping pills and its suprisingly working really well although hes on a minimal dose. I can tell how much he appreciates the mornings now, when things were bad, he would wake up unbearably tired and extremely grumpy those mornings were when we got into our most heated arguments. I always felt so guilty after because I know how much he struggles and how hard the mornings are for him. "Good morning, Charles" I say as he squints his eyes and directs them at me, he lays his head back down onto my stomach. He always has had a weirdly cute obsession with my stomach. I swear it's his favorite part about me. I twirl my fingers in his messy black hair, ever since the day we met in form I've always loved his hair I don't know why I just do. Minutes later... "prince sleepyhead" I remark after saying that Charlie turns away from me and throws the covers over his head ignoring my poking. "Nick please I never sleep in I need another 20 minutes." I joke around with him but in reality my heart aches for him, I wish we didn't have such a big day today and we could stay in bed all day that's what Charlie really needs but we cant well not today anyway it was the day after Elles realignment surgery, and she was allowed visitors. The whole pairs squad was going to be there. "Princess and the pea" I softly whispered into Charlie's ear. "Nick stop please" Charlie whines "Charlie its 11 am you've already slept in." Charlie jerks out of bed and grabs his phone to verify the time, he was shocked that he had been sleeping for so long he usually wakes up at 6 am due to him not being able to sleep. "Charlie its ok we live 5 minutes away from the hospital where Elle had her surgy at." "I know I know, it's just I feel a little flustered know we need to meet Sarah, Tara and Darcy at IHOP for breakfast in 30 minutes. I must get dressed, brush my teeth, have a shower, wash my face........." "Charlie" I say as i'm scooping him up into my arms "relax trust me our friends wont mind if were a little late."I put him down and smacked his ass "go on hurry up sleepyhead." he chuckles as he goes and gets ready.
