Chapter 4

Arthur's pov

I don't know how long we had until the bell started ringing, but it was the first time I wanted it to ring a little earlier.Jack and his friends hadn't left, they were still standing in front of us and looked like they planned to stay.

So I waited

I crossed my arms over my chest and waited for them to say something. Meanwhile I looked around the corridors, people passing by, no one stopping to look or listen, there were some glances from a large number of students but that was it.

Until someone stopped and it was Lisa. I let my hands fall to my sides again and looked into her eyes. She also looked back at me lost in thought and for a minute I thought maybe she was thinking of coming to save me and my friends from this situation

I was hoping she would walk over to us and say something

But then Jamie was next to her with his hand on her shoulder and whispered something in her ear. She suddenly turned and looked into his eyes, before turning to look into mine again. She looked like she was in a trance and someone woke her up

And the next thing she did was leave

She left and didn't look back. I followed her with my eyes as she and Jamie who was next to her approached Sophia. I felt a little sad, because the old Lisa would have helped me, but I'm not mad at her, especially after what she's been through

Her whole behavior is a little weird, but I would do the same

Suddenly a loud sound made me look away from where my sister had been a moment ago and look straight ahead into Jack's eyes

"You didn't seem to be listening, baby. Huh?" he had come closer, probably when I was looking at my sister. I could feel his breath on my face and his eyes looking right into mine.

I felt my face heat up

"W-W-What?" I tried to form some words but the only thing that came out of my mouth were mumbles. He must have said something but I didn't hear what. I looked over to where I heard the sound before and noticed Jack's hand, outstretched with his veins sticking out, as if he were holding tightly to the locker next to me where his hand rested. It looked like he was trying to stop me from leaving.

I bit my lip and felt my whole body heat up. I must have been red

A little further on I could see mine and Jack's friends looking between us with wide eyes. I could feel them piercing into my skin. I could also feel the eyes of some other students, they must have stopped to see what was going on, but there was no sound, they were all too stunned to speak

This has never happened before

Of course he always called me cute names in front of others to make me blush and then laugh with his friends but me, standing between the locker and his body never happened

I looked at him again

He came a little closer without losing eye contact with me. He ran his tongue over his lips and then smiled

"I saw you looking down the hall a few minutes ago" I went to speak but was interrupted by his sweet quiet voice " and I asked you if you wanted to get away from me "

I didn't answer because I couldn't form a single proper word

He then let his hand fall back to his side with a quiet laugh leaving his mouth. He pulled away from me a bit but his eyes were locked on mine

None of the students - there weren't many after all - laughed, they were too shocked

Not even Bruce who always laughed at what Jack did

And then the bell rang

Really? Now?

All the students started to leave after a minute , murmurs could be heard everywhere some were still looking at us as they walked

"See you around, my love" Jack said laughing and winked at me as he and his still shocked friends left to go to their classes

I was still in shock and my face was definitely red

I took a deep breath

"That was the weirdest and sexiest thing I've ever seen" Geo said now beside me looking with me at the boys as they disappeared from our sight

"Sexiest thing? He just did it for laughs, so the school would have something to say" I said as I looked at him a little annoyed but still in shock. Of course Jack did all this only to embarrass me

I sighed as I closed my eyes

"I don't think the school will be talking about just you, but about Jack too" Alice said suddenly. I opened my eyes and saw her smiling. I looked at her like she was crazy

"Every kid here could feel the tension. Plus he seemed to be enjoying it all." she said like she pointed out something that was obvious. I felt Bruce next to me nod as if he agreed with her

" What are you sa...?" but before I could finish Alice grabbed me and Geo by our arms and started running

"We're going to be late for class. We'll talk about it at Tina's this afternoon after the mall, ok?" She didn't even turn to look at me, she just kept her eyes straight ahead

I didn't need to answer nor did Geo, she already knew the it.

This afternoon will be full of discussions
