Chapter 12

Alice's pov

I was sitting at our usual table with my food in front of me. I waited for Arthur and Geo to join me so I could tell them what happened. We didn't take the same classes, so I didn't have time to tell them anything 

Not that I had yet processed what happened in my head because it was something unexpected. Kind of sweet but also weird and unexpected

Suddenly a recognizable laugh brought me out of my thoughts. I turned my head to see Arthur and Geo approaching our table, probably laughing at one of their silly jokes while holding their tray of food in their hands. The next moment they were both sitting next to me. Their laughs had faded but they still had that cute and goofy grin on their faces

"Hello Alice my dear" Arthur said and bit into his apple. "Hey" Geo said after a few seconds and started eating too

I looked at them both "Hi to you too. Did something good happen?" I asked grinning and they both raised their heads looking at me confused. "I mean you are beyond happy and I have a feeling something happened" I said with a shrug and looked down at my food. Then Arthur coughed and that caught my attention. I looked at him, he was still holding the half eaten apple in his left hand

"Well" I saw him smile and bite his bottom lip as he motioned me to look over to the table where Jack and his friends were sitting. He definitely wanted me to understand something, but I was confused. I looked at their table and then back to Arthur waiting for him to say something. Then I heard Geo sigh and imagined him rolling his eyes at my stupidity

I didn't have time to turn my head towards Geo to ask him what happened when I felt him getting closer to me. He was whispering something to me. He didn't have much to say and when he finished my eyes widened "You've got to be kidding me" I put my hand over my mouth and looked back at Jack's table. Then I felt a gentle touch in my shoulder and set my eyes on Arthur

"You'll be caught watching" he said with a laugh showing me that he didn't mind at all. I took his hand in mine and smiled "You're not kidding right?" I asked

"No! He's been looking at me the whole lesson. I could feel it and Geo said so. When I turned to look I saw him looking and he winked at me and then he smiled and you know Jack's smile, it's kind of cute." he said breathlessly and was on the verge of screaming. When he was over, he smiled just like a boy in love when his crush noticed him. I let go of his hand and he put it under his head as he sighed and looked slightly towards Jack

"Well I have to tell you something too" I didn't see another good time to tell them this. We couldn't meet at Dina's to talk because we had homework so this was the perfect time. They both looked at me as lost and confused as I was before. I smiled and beckoned them to come closer to me. They started to approach me. In the end they were glued to me waiting for me to tell them my story

I spoke as quietly as I could but I wanted both of them to hear me clearly. This time my speech took longer and when I finished I nodded to show them that what I said was true, not that they wouldn't believe me. "No way" Arthur said as he got away from me. He was like me when I heard about Jack. Geo's reaction was almost the same

"I know, it sounds kind of..." I said and then stopped "Weird" Geo continued for me. I turned my head to where he was sitting "Right" I said and looked at Arthur. Then I thought about it a bit "and cute and brave" I was thinking about how he was acting. When i looked back the kids were looking at me wondering "I mean, you could have seen him. I could feel he was nervous and just him coming to apologize for Jack was kind of cute" I said "And that looks like he cares" I quickly added

"I don't know" Arthur whispered turning his head back to the others. Then as an idea popped into his head he turned to us "Wait are you sure Jack didn't know about this? He could have told Gabe to come talk to you" He was looking at us waiting for our input. I could see a smile forming on his lips "You could be right" I heard Geo say. I looked back at their table "I don't really know but I think they already know" I said. I don't really know if Jack knew or not, but if he didn't, Gabe must have told them

Now we were all looking their way and were lucky they didn't seem to notice. I sighed and looked at my food. I started to eat and then the other two did the same " I see the future holds many surprises" I said with a second sigh while I was messing the salad with my fork. I ate a bit as I heard both Arthur and Geo agree with me

Little did I know I was completely wrong. I mean who wouldn't have noticed that there were three students looking at your table
