Jamie's pov.
All the yells made me wish I was back in class where no one dared to talk. I tried to cover my ears but then I fathomed how weird I would seem, especially to the other two who were walking next to me. I looked around instead, at all the kids, but mainly focused at the way Bruce was trying to say something to Geo
Shaking my head, I tried to get my eyes away from the personal moment and got back to my own company which for some reason was awfully weird today
Sophia had a little frown on her face. She seemed like she wanted to tell something but whenever she was opening her mouth something else, meaningless was coming out. On the other hand Lisa was too quiet. She was still smiling, even if she was forcing it out but still she hadn't said much
I let out a loud sigh, as I kept walking, passing through the children, while a few thoughts were swirling in my head. Of course and I am blaming myself for involving Lisa in all this
After the day of Sophia's sudden outburst, me and Lisa had only discussed about it a little bit, nothing more. I had asked her quite several times if she was okay and her only answer was yes but maybe she was bothered after all
I found myself following behind them now, when my mind was clearer. My legs were moving on their own, taking me everywhere all around. I might have shoved a few people in the process of my little "trip" before finally sitting down at one of the tables
Not even a few minutes passed before Lisa and Sophia stood up at the same time, deciding to go together for the food. My eyes followed the way they were walking close but yet no words were dared to be spoke
After some minutes, they both came with the trays full of food. As soon as I saw them I ran to help them so that we could settle them carefully at the table. When we were done, we sat up again, each one of us going for its own
One of the girls passed it to me and I quickly muttered a small thank you, not paying much attention. Now having it in front of me, I examined the food with the thoughts from before, coming back to haunt me. But I couldn't let them, so I took a deep breath and tried to relax
I felt a little better
After taking my fork, I moved my gaze to Lisa for a bit, just to see if she was okay and as I waited she wasn't. She had her own fork in her hand, messing with the food around and taking a few bites now and then. I felt really awful as I stayed staring at her
Then suddenly an idea popped in my mind. Feeling a little smart, I took my phone from my pocket, hiding it away from the others' eyes and immediately opening mine and Lisa's chat on Instagram, texting something really quick before finally shoving a piece of my delicious toast in my mouth

"Hiiiiiiiii"
Now I have only to wait for her response
I wish she has turned on her phone, because I needed to comfort her in some way, even if it was through a text
"Hiii"
With a sigh of relief, I looked towards her. Now a real little smile had formed on her face and I couldn't hold mine back either. She looked at me confused but lowered her head anyway, waiting for my next move
"How are you doing?"
She didn't text me back immediately but I was willing to give her a few minutes to response and it was worth it as I looked at the message in front of me after a few seconds
"Now that we're talking, better"
"I'm happy for you ;)"
"So I texted you because I wanted to make sure you are okay. You know about… this theme and I didn't want Sofia to hear"
"Sorry if I scared you or anything"
"Yeah, I understand and as I said I'm fine:-D. You don't need to worry, I was more glad than scared that you messaged me"
"But anyway, how are you?"
"Fine!!"
"Cool<3"
"But a little bored as well"
"Oh, well walk a little bit around then"
"But I'm hungry too and don't want to stand up"
"You're so lazy"
"and cute<3"
"I know, it's one of my gifts"
"(^^)"
I let a little laugh come out of my mouth as I looked at Lisa's face, but I tried to muffle it so that I couldn't get Sophia's attention
"You know what? I'm taking everything back"
"You're so cringe"
"I'm going to eat now"
"Yeah I know, I can see you"
"I'm sitting across from you"
I raised my head, looking towards her and after giving her a quick wink, we went back to talking
"Lol"
"I'm greeting you for now"
"Bye me princess<3333"
"Me?"
"Stupid autocorrect check"

I heard her laugh and how she was trying to hide it too. She seemed fine, as if everything has gone to the back of her mind, at least for now
We both closed our phones with a small smile and put it back to our pockets
I turned my gaze to Sophia waiting for any complaint but luckily, she herself was looking so devotedly at her phone too. I watched in confusion as she was constantly clicking, writing or deleting a few words and then here we go again. I stayed looking in her absorbed gaze as she finally pressed the button, probably sending a text to anyone, with an envious smile forming in her face
I carefully swallowed my bite
My gaze drifted away and my mind for some reason turned to the worst
I hope you liked it
