Chapter 20

Alice's pov                  (Time skip to Friday afternoon)                                                             
It was finally Friday afternoon

These days we were all so impatient. From the moment Gabe made the move to invite us to the game, we couldn't wait

At first we thought it might be a joke, but when they turned to leave without laughing, we were convinced it wasn't a joke to laugh after all

In fact, we were on really good terms with the kids these days. The other day, after our unexpected meeting at Dina's, while we were walking and talking about classes Jack and the twins walked past us and actually stopped and we had a little chat. Just the usual "How are you?" "What class are you in?"

Me and Gabe started getting closer. Whenever we had a lesson together he would come and sit next to me. We didn't share our deepest secrets or become best friends, but we would talk more about other classes and the upcoming game

And as expected we got a lot of looks. Most were confused. Others were worried, but we couldn't care less. We were trying to do something good for ourselves, we weren't going to hurt anyone

I closed my eyes smiling. I couldn't get over his perfect smile and that cute face he made when he couldn't figure something out. I could imagine myself twirling in my room and laughing while thinking about my crush like those girls do in the movies

I wanted to scream with happiness but I knew if I did it my parents would come running to my room so I stayed quiet

Finally I went to the mirror to see if I needed to add anything else to my outfit. I chose to wear black baggy jeans and a pink sweater because of how cold it might be outside. I had put my hair in a ponytail and put on some make up

"You're fantastic" I whispered to myself looking into the mirror. I blew a kiss to myself through the mirror. What can I say, it helps my self-esteem

I went to get my jacket that was hanging on the chair and went downstairs to inform my parents that I would be leaving shortly

When I was downstairs I looked around to see if they were watching TV but suddenly I heard someone laughing. I smiled and went to the kitchen where the sound was coming from

I popped my head into the kitchen and saw my parents laughing while cooking. They didn't seem to notice me so I walked in there standing behind them "Hi"

"Oh sweetie you scared us" Mom said laughing after her and Dad literally had a heart attack from the sudden hi "I'm sorry" I said laughing too" but I wanted to tell you I'm going out. I have to go get Geo and Arthur with me first and then straight to school for the game" I said trying to see what they were cooking

"Fine we'll be here, if anything comes up just call one of us. Have a good time" Mom replied as she came over and took my head in her hands kissing my hair. I laughed and looked at her "Thanks"

"Enjoy the game" dad said as he came over to me too, hugging me as soon as my mom let go of my head "yes i will" i said "sure i will" i thought as i smiled and bit my lower lip

"Yes" I said after a few seconds "I'll be leaving now bye" I greeted them as I ran to the door and took my keys out of my pocket holding them tightly "Bye" both of my parents greeted me with their known smile 

I went outside, walking straight to my car and when I got in I laid my head in the seat and took a deep breath before lifting it up again. I looked at the radio and turned on my favorite station. Summertime sadness is one of my favorite songs and I was happy to hear it playing. I was singing along as I started the car, heading for Geo's house. It wasn't that far. After 15 minutes of passing pretty houses and parks I parked outside his house
