Geo's pov.
"See you later. Have fun" I heard Arthur saying and then Alice's voice pierced my ears. I put my phone closer to my ear, while passing a few teenagers so I could enter the mall
“Thank you guys” I yelled through it with a small laugh, making a big majority of people look at me. I bit my lip and turned the other way, walking away where there were not a few people. I closed my phone with an easy smile on my face and put it in the front pocket of my jeans
I was so glad for our big sleepover. Luckily, from so many times we had slept at Arthur's house, me and Alice had left a few of our things, like pajamas, there, in case we wanted to stay in there for a night, so I didn't have to carry anything with me
While walking, the sign from the shop I was looking for caught my attention. With quite quick steps I passed the opened door and went inside. I sighed while looking around me. I was searching for a present my mother had asked me to get for one of her patients who had worked hard and was now getting out of the famous mental hospital. She was always doing this for her favorite ones. She said that she hadn't had the time and begged me to get something as a goodbye gift
I kept getting in different hallways, between simple everyday wear or fancy party wear. Messing with the hem of my shirt I was wearing, my eyes were darting everywhere. When I felt it crinkle, I straightened it a little and went back to searching. My mum had said to get something nice and special, so I decided for a nice blouse or a perfume, maybe a pair of earrings too. I rubbed my face in irritation as my eyes were falling constantly on different things. I sighed as I lowered my head to take a deep breath and the picture of my smiling mother came to my mind. She knew her better, so she would be much better than me in this matter
“Not this” I whispered to myself as I saw a black top with a band on it. It was nice but again so simple. I kept searching and searching, trying to think what could more impress a lady in her late thirties. Suddenly a known sound came from my phone. I ignored it for a little, thinking that it was only a notification but then I felt it vibrating again. I grabbed and opened it. Seeing that it was my mother who sent me, answering to a previous message, I had sent hours ago, I clicked to our chat
Mommy ❤️
17:48 pm"Hi sweetie"
"I think she likes shiny things. Maybe a nice blouse or earrings. Whatever you think that it's the best"
I sighed, closing my eyes for a bit before opening them and started typing my reply
"Thanks mama. See u ^_^"
"Bye love you"
"love u 2"
As I kept looking on my phone, making sure if the message was sent to her, I started heading to where I had seen a few clothes that this woman might like. I started walking with the phone in my hands and I knew it was wrong not to focus ahead and I would soon find out. As I was getting to where I wanted, I pumped into someone making me stumble back. Luckily I didn't fall down
I grabbed my phone tightly, closing my eyes for a little. I only opened them when I felt a soft touch in my arm and waited for the other to start yelling but he didn't. Looking up at him, I saw a slight funny smile and brown eyes staring down at me. I could have sworn I could recognize them everywhere
“Geo” he said, steading me better, but keeping his hand there. I put my phone back at my pocket before answering back with my soft voice
“Bruce, hi” I said, the words twirling in my tongue
