Arthur's pov.

(After school at his home)

"Okay" I responded, clutching my phone closer to my ear "Yes, Geo we understand"

"Don't worry, we will be waiting for you" I laughed a little looking at Alice who had the same reaction

"Yeah, we're at my house" I touched the top of one of our sofas, resting on it because of the whole up-and-down pacing and waited for his next muffled words

"We're still doing the sleepover tonight and don't worry, we are not going to sleep without you being here and if we go you'll have to sleep in the garden for the night. It's not that bad" I tried to stop my laugh but as soon as I looked at Alice's face, I couldn't contain it

"Okay, okay I'm kidding" I put my hand up, begging for her to stop, as Geo started complaining about our bad taste in jokes "See you later. Have fun" Alice shouted the last part way louder than me and after a few seconds of thanking us, I closed the phone with a small smile before leaving on the low little table next to me. Alice looked at it for a minute and then at me again

"Will he come later after all?"

"Yes, he's going outside, probably at the mall. His mum wants something but she hasn't the time to look for it" we allowed a deep breath escape from both of us and then silence again. The only sound was a few distant cars passing by and quiet footsteps. Someone opened the front door with a slight force and a loud bye was heard. We both turned, focusing and waiting. The door quickly closed back again and a figure was standing there with her hair down and her school bag hanging over her shoulder, each of us looking back at each other

"Um, hi" Lisa said hesitate after taking a few more steps, her hand almost touching the couch me and Alice were sitting on

"Hi," I said quietly, while no one else was home but us. Next to me, Alice waved her hello. Immediately after Lisa's eyes left ours, searching for something in the house, mainly in the kitchen

"Mum had gone to the grocery store for a few things and dad is on his way here" eventually she stopped looking for any other sound or any other person to appear

"Oh okay" she didn't seem surprised, her face not even changing from the time she got in. A sad smile constantly stuck on her perfect always bright and happy face, although she was trying to hide it

"I'm going for a glass of water and then to my room" she got herself away from the sofa, turning around. I looked at her getting away before an idea popped into my mind

"You know, we're going to watch some TV while waiting for Geo. If you want to have your glass of water and then leave your things there and join us" I stopped my sentence smiling and with my finger I pointed where all our things, from bags to jackets were gathered "then you are welcome"

"Um, I don..." she tried to say, her hands going instantly to her hair, stroking them back but Alice got to speak before Lisa could finish

"We don't mind," Alice said. I turned around almost amused but at the same time thanking her with my eyes. She kept looking at Lisa waiting for an answer

"Then why not?" she questioned with a silly breathless laugh, grabbing the bag in both of her hands now "I'm coming in a minute" she said and then headed to the kitchen quickly searching for a glass of "survival" water. We saw her disappearing behind the door. She had a slight smile but her features were still showing her tiredness and sadness

"Is she okay?" Alice asked me after we both heard the door closing and the water running, hitting the inside of a glass

"I don't really know" I looked at the closed door, being careful not to open suddenly. I couldn't hear anything anymore. She must have turned off the faucet, quickly downing the full glass of water
