I couldn't believe my ears. I wasn't angry, upset, or weirded out. I was.... happy. Maya called me mom! It was super surprising because I never thought she would.
I walked downstairs, smiling. Alfie looked up at noticed my teeth showing.
"What's up?" He asked, smiling back.
I sat down next to him and held onto his arm, cuddling him. "Maya called me mom."
He gasped and looking more concerned that happy.
"Did she mean to?"
I shook my head. "She felt super awkward after. I felt happy though."
He nodded. "That's great! I hope she doesn't feel awkward around you after that."
"Yeah me too."
Secretly, I wish she could call me mom all the time.
