May's birthday is in 5 days. We're planning something for it. I don't even think she realizes it's her birthday soon.
"Hey Zalfie, can I talk to you guys?"
Maya showed up in the living room and sat down.
"Sure." We said, scooching in.
"Well, my friend Jeana is kind of in trouble."
Alfie and I exchanged looks. "What kind of trouble?" I asked.
"Well, her dad is abusive."
I put a hand up to my mouth. She explained what he does and what happened. Poor Jeana.
"Is there anything you guys can do?"
Alfie and I exchanged looks again. "We will deal with it." He said.
Maya nodded. "Okay thanks. I just want her to be safe."
"That's sweet of you, Maya. Thank you for telling us." I smiled.
She left upstairs and I looked at Alfie. "Are you thinking what I'm thinking?"
He nodded and we continued talking.
1 day later
Well, Alfie and I got some information on Jeana and we found her number. We called child services on her dad and we found out that we got them separated. We also made it so she wouldn't go to her mom's because we found out her mom smokes and drinks a lot now that she's divorced.
We hope Maya won't be too angry with us.
