Chapter 71

3 weeks later

Joe's pov

All I hear is yelling from the other room. Maybe it's best if Caspar or Alexus moves out. Madi and I are sick of all this fighting.

"Madi, should one of them move out?" I ask her, looking over.

She looks at me and sighs. "I guess it's for the best."

"let's talk to them about it after we go to Zoe and Alfie's house." I say looking back down at my phone. "Zoe and Alfie are patents, so get will have good advice."

Madi makes a laughing noise. "Alright, let me do my makeup and we'll go." She stands up and goes into the bathroom.

...

"I've missed you Maya!" I say as I engulf her into a bear hug.

"I missed you too!" She mumbled into my shoulder. Madi gives her a hug too after I finally let go.

She turns to her friend. "Jeana, this is my uncle and auntie Joe and Madi." Then she turns to us. "Joe, Madi, this is Jeana."

Jeana nervously waves and we wave back. "Hello." I greet.

After we talk for a bit, they go upstairs and Madi and I sit down with Zalfie to talk about Alexspar.

"So... we were thinking about letting Caspar and Alexus move out." Madi says to them. "The fighting is out of control."

"Do they want to move out?" Alfie asks.

I nod. "Yeah, they do."

"Why haven't they then?" Zoe asks.

"We kind of... haven't let them." I say.

"well, I say that if they really want to move out, they should. It's their choice, and they should do what's best for everyone. They are adults after all, they should do something for themselves." Says Zoe. "Talk to fhem about that."

Ah, Zoe's clever advice.

Madi and I stand at the doors to our flat. I take a deep breath. "Ready to lose our friends?"

She laughs. "Ready as I'll ever be."

I nod at her and open the door. Inside on the couch, Alexus and Caspar are gently kissing, his hand on her head and her arms around his neck.

The sound of the door opening made them pull apart, and they both spread away from each other quickly. Alexus looks around the room, trying to nor face the awkwardness. Caspar coughs quietly looking away from her.

"Sorry, we didn't mean to interrupt." Madi says awkwardly.

"Madi, wait." I say. "Guys, are you back together?"

They look at us without looking at each other. "Um no I don't know what happened." Caspar looks away.

"Yeah. I don't know either." Alexus blushes, holding her knees to her chest.

...

Caspars pov

I come downstairs while yelling at Alexus. "You need to take your makeup out of my room! We don't share rooms anymo-"

I stop when I reach the bottom of the stairs. Alexus is curled up on the couch with her knees to her chest and crying into her sleeves.

"Alexus... Lexi.." I say walking over to her. She just keeps crying.

"Don't cry." I frown, feeling guilty. "Lexi please don't cry." I slowly put my hand on her back and rub her lower back.

She sniffs and looks at her feet. "It's all getting too much, Casp. I'm moving."

"Well, I'm moving out too, it's going to be okay." I say, trying to make her stop crying.

"No, I'm moving back to Canada."

My eyes widen. "What? No you can't!"

She nods. "I can, and I have to."

I grab her wrists and pull them to me. "Please, please don't move. Don't... leave me."

She leans forward and puts her head on my chest. "I'm sorry."

I rest my chin on her head, inhaling her scent. The scent I've missed very much.

"No, I'm sorry." I say. "We shouldn't have been fighting. It's all my fault."

"It's not either of our faults." She replies. "I hate to admit it, but I've missed you, Caspar."

I smile. "I've missed you too." I lean down and lift her chin up to my lips. I slowly kiss her until she kisses back.

Then she pulls away. "This doesn't mean I'm staying."

I smirk. "Your not going anywhere."

She looks down at my mouth again and leans in. I hold the back of her head gently and she wraps her arms around my neck.

The door clicks and opens. We break the kiss and pull away from each other. It's Joe and Madi.
