Chapter 59

Beep beep

Good morninggg :)

I've never gotten a good morning text from anybody, especially a boy.

Good morning Sammmmm

I plug my phone on and go downstairs. Zoe looks up at me from the kitchen. "Hey, I didn't even have to wake you!"

"I know, I woke up and couldn't go back to sleep." I laugh while grabbing an apple.

"Excited for after school?" Zoe winks.

I look around for Alfie before answering. Zoe laughs. "Don't worry, Alfie is asleep."

"Good." I laugh. "But, yeah I am."

She scrolls through instagram while I eat my apple. "So..." I start. "How's tan?"

Zoe doesn't look up. "She'll be fine."

I nod. Then Alfie comes out of the bedroom. "Heyyy!" He greets. "How's my favorite ladies?"

He hugs me from behind. "Good morning Alf." I laugh. He let's go and comes behind Zoe. He hugs her from behind and she looks up. He kissed her from above.

"Morning Alfieeeeee." Says Zoe. He smiles and goes to make breakfast. I finish my last bite and go up to get ready.

Alfie drops me off at school and I say bye, while he drives away. I enter the school and Sam waves at me from the crowd of his friends. I wave back and walk to my locker.

Year 8 finally got better. They installed lockers outside of the classroom so now we have our own protected area. I did my code and put my backpack in.

I shut the locker and Hannah was standing right beside it. I jump. "Jesus, Hannah." I say holding my heart. "You scared me."

"Oh cute." she says. "Anyways here's the point."

"Oh no, there's a point?"

She rolls her eyes. "Yes, there is. I want Sam."

I raise an eyebrow. "Excuse me?"

She scoffs. "Well its clear that you two are dating."

"What?" I ask. "I've only known the guy for about a week."

"So?" She snobs. "But, stay away from him."

"Dude, no." I argue. "I don't have so stay away from him, he's like my only friend."

"Dude yes." Says Hannah. "no one had ever stuck up to me like that. When I say I want something, I get it. Understand?"

I slam my locker again and it locks. "No, I don't understand. Maybe they should stick up to you because your not as powerful as you think you are." I walk past her, bumping my arm against hers.

She scoffs and turns to me. "whatever, loser."

I roll my eyes. Whatever loser.

The bell rings and I go into the classroom with my supplies.

After lunch, I come to my locker to get my stuff for the next class. When I shut it, Alice walks up to me.

"Hi, this is awkward, but I'm sorry." She says, looking down at her feet.

I stop and stare blankly at her. "Sorry for what?"

"Hannah is not a nice person, and in my group, I don't fit in. I'm not like them, and I don't wanna be like them. So I'm sorry for not doing anything when she was picking on you."

"Oh." I say. "That's fine, you weren't rude. I appreciate your kindness."

She smiles at me. "Thank you." She turns to walk away but stops first. "Oh, and you and Sam make a great couple."

My eyes open wide and I turn quickly. "Oh, w-were not a couple!"

It was too late, she walked down the hall. I know we're not together, but are we actually cute together?

Beep beep

Zoe: I told Alfie to not get you because you are with a 'new friend'. your secret is safe with me, gorgeous ;)

I laugh at the text from her and send one back.

Zoeeee he's just a friend

she reads and texts back quickly.

Zoe: mmhmm okay have fun lovebirds

I laugh and roll my eyes at the text. "What's so funny?" Sam asks coming over with his backpack around his shoulder.

"Just my mum." I giggle.

He nods. "Ready to go?" I nod and we walk out the doors.
