Chapter 7

Maya's Pov

Those words. Those 3 words. I never thought I would hear them. Especially from the people I love the most.

"Oh....oh my g..." I say nervously yet still excited.

I have no words. Literally. I'm in so much shock that nothing comes out my mouth. So, instead of thanking them using words, I get up and hug them both, thanking them with all my might. They hugged me back.

"But.... why me?" I ask.

"You are perfect for us, Maya." Alfie says. "Its not fair they keep you locked up here. Your 12 years old. You need to go to school and have lots of friends. Thats what we will provide you with if you come home with us."

These words Alfie said makes me smile.

"Plus," Zoe adds. "Jackie isnt exactly the nicest."

I giggle a little.

"So, we'll give you time to pack up, and I'll help you." Zoe pleads.

I smile and nod. "Okay."

*Half an hour later*

"Ready to go?" Alfie asks Zoe and I as we walk out of my room.

"Um.... yeah." I say with a relief.

"Bye Jackie. Thanks... for everything." I told Jackie as we walk out the door.

She just smiles and nods before saying. "Goodbye Maya. You're gunna go far kid."

It's so weird to be outside and get into a car I've never seen in person before. I watch out the window as we went down the streets. I watch the place I was kept in for all these years get smaller and smaller until eventually it disappeared.

Alfie's Pov

"So Maya." I chirp. "What are your hobbies?" She looks at me from the window and made a face like she was thinking.

"Well, besides watching you guys, Joe... well, basically everyone, I like to paint and read. I draw a lot too, but im no good at it." She says.

"You watch that idiot, Joe?" Zoe giggles while still paying attention to the road.

"He's really funny." Maya giggles. "Im really excited to meet everyone. Do they all know about me?"

"Well, they dont know your 12, but they do know we were on our way to adopt. They will be expecting a baby, but everyone will love you just as much." Zoe informa her.

"Oh cool." Maya says as she looked back out the window.

I can't help but wonder what she's thinking. She seems so excited and happy to be adopted, especially by us. But what will she be like?

Will she like us in person? Are we different off camera? What will our friends, family, and viewers think?

All these questions race through my head as we journey our way back to Brighton with our new daughter.
