Alfie pov
"Do you think we did the right thing?" I ask Zoe as she comes into the room.
She sits down and puts her feet on my legs. "Maya will be sad." I start. "But it's for the best."
"But Maya says that adoption agency sucks and she hated it." Zoe complains.
"Well, it was the only one they were willing to help her for." I say, calming her down.
"Okay, I guess it was the best we can do." She says, lightening up.
I stare down at her head which is now rested on my chest with her hair sprawled out everywhere. Around two years ago, she cut it short and she loved it. Now she's growing it out again because she misses making awesome hair styles.
The time has gone so fast. We've had Maya for like almost 4 months now. Feels like just yesterday she stepped out of that place.
