"hey, are you okay?" i asked shin and held his hand, he seemed nervous.
"yes, of course" he smiled sweetly at me and kissed my knuckles.
graduation na ni shin ngayon at ayaw ko namang mawala, kaya sabi ko sa kanya ay sasama ako mismo. Kung pedeng ako na rin ang mag bibigay ng diploma sa kanya, ay ako na ang gumawa.
pumunta na si shin sa mga kaklase niya dahil magsastart na, at ako naman ay tumabi kay elise wala pa rin nagbago sa mukha niya, halatang pinipilit lang niyang ngumiti.
bukas na agad ang alis ni elise talagang tinapos lang niya ang graduation ng kuya niya, at mukhang desidido na rin siya na umalis. Alam namin na hindi na namin siya mapipigilan at alam namin na para sa kanya rin naman ang pag alis niya, at least ngayon naiisip na niya ang sarili niya.
"tito, tita" bati ko sa mga magulang ni shin na umupo sa tabi namin ni elise.
"where's shin?" tito troy asked. I immediately pointed to shin where he was sitting.
His classmates are talking to him but he doesn't seem to be in the mood to talk to them, he was just looking at he stage, his classmates were like air to him. He looked in our direction and he immediately smiled when our eyes met.
"are you sure you're really going to leave?" i looked at elise who deep in thought.
"why? will you stop me?" she slightly chuckled.
"no, if that's what you think will make you happy, i won't stop you" i caressed her back.
"hindi kaya tayo talaga ang para sa isa't isa?" elise joked which made me wince "you are like a girl friend to me"
"i am your girl friend" i chuckled.
"aagawin kita kay kuya? though nauna ako sa kanya no" she pouted like a kid.
Elise already knew that her older brother was courting me, she wasn't surprised when i told her because she already knew that was the way to go. Sabi niya ay nung una pa lang ay alam niya ng mangyayare iyon, dahil hindi naman daw ganon kuya niya sa ibang babae, sa kanya lang dahil kapatid raw siya.
"you promise me that you will take care of my kuya, okay?" ngumiti siya ng tipid sa akin "and i also made him promise to take care of you"
"you should also take care of yourself" sabi ko sa kanya at tinaasan siya ng kilay.
"i will" she chuckled "anyway kailan mo balak sagutin si kuya?"
"secret" ngumiti ako sa kanya.
i clapped so hard when shin was called to the stage, he is the magna cum laude so his parents are happy for him. I won't be surprised because i know that he studies very hard, and he deserves it.
i was so happy for him, i'm happy because he was with me with he graduated, i'm happy that i have him in my life. And when i take a risk, i will risk everything only on him.
Tatakbo na sana siya palapit sa akin ng biglang yumakap si elise sa kanya, natawa na lang ako sa itsura ni shin.
"Congrats, kuya!" Masayang niyakap ni elise ni shin, at niyakap rin naman siya pabalik ng kanyang kuya.
"We're so proud of you, samuel" her mom called by his second name.
Napangiwi si shin "mom, don't call me that"
He finally came to me and give me a tight hug, i hugged him back. Naka suot pa rin siya ng toga habang hawak hawak ang diploma niya.
"Congrats, love" i gave him a lopsided smile. "i love you"
"I love you t-" nanlaki ang mga mata niyang tumingin sa akin "wait, what did you say?" he blink twice.
"Binge ka, sabi ko" inirapan ko siya at tumawa.
Mag lalakad na sana ako pero hinawakan niya ako sa palapulsuhan para pigilan.
"You said, when you say i love you to me, it means tayo na..." still looked shock "so..."
"I love you" ulit ko. His cheeks went crimson. He pulled me and gave me a tight hug, I could feel the speed of every beat of his heart.
Sinabi ko sa kanyang pag nag sinabi kong 'i love you' sa kanya ibig sabihin ay sinasagot ko na siya. Nasa plano ko na talagang sagutin siya sa mismo niyang graduation.
I feel that this is the best decision i have made in my entire life. As long as i'm with him, I'm just afraid that he might be tired of understanding me, because even i can't understand myself. We are about to start our relationship.
"let's celebrate! I am leaving na tomorrow" malawak na ngumiti si elise pero bakas ang lungkot ng mga magulang niya sa kanyang pag alis.
Because elise is the youngest, all the attention of their parents in on elise. That's what shin wants too, Shin loves Elise very much, but i noticed that shin is stricter than their parents.
pumunta kami sa isang restaurant, gusto ni elise sa labas kumain dahil siya daw ang mag babayad bago daw siya umalis.
Elise let her brother sit next to me, she just stayed next to her mom. I was silent while they looked at the menu, because im shy.
"what's yours, love?" Shin held my hand that was just under the table.
I said my order and we waited for the food to arrive, we were all serious while eating and just had a little conversation. I was laughing because of shin's mom, she has been telling stories about her for while now.
"mom" saway ni shin sa mama niya na kanina pa natawa.
"any way, aki. Shin always tell us stories about you" singit ng daddy ni shin sa usapan.
tahimik lang si shin at halatang nahihiya, habang ako ay kanina pa siya inaasar.
"so kayo na ba?" tumingin sa amin ng nakakaasar si tita. tumingin sa akin si shin at halatang hinihintay ang sasabihin ko.
i looked at him first "yes po, tita" shin smiled at what i said.
"ikaw lang yung unang babaeng kinuwento samin ni shin" si tita. "we're happy for both of you" tita smiled at me.
Masaya rin ako, masayang masaya, hindi ko maintindihan ng sayang nararamdaman ko.
Hindi pa alam nila mama ang tungkol sa amin ni shin, pero alam kong expected na rin naman nila iyon gaya ng magulang ni shin.
Nang maka alis sa restaurant ay nag kanya kanya na kami, sila tita ay umuwi na, si elise naman ay may bibilhin pa raw dahil aalis na siya bukas. Ilang beses ko siyang pinilit na samahan ko siya pero ayaw niya, wala na rin naman akong nagawa.
"Let's go, love" shin held my hand as we go inside my house.
he doesn't seem nervous because his face is just serious, I told him that I will introduce him to my parents. I don't know if he's nervous because he's so quiet.
my parents have known Shin for a long time because he is Elise's brother, but they rarely saw Shin back then because Shin was always busy, that's what Elise said.
"Ma, nan dito na po kami" sabi ko pagka pasok sa loob ng bahay.
