If this could change the way you live for the better,
then I will do everything I can to make it happen.

On the third day of the Festival, Rera decides to pay a visit to Ningguang. After leaving her off with a merchant's license and a permit, Rera isn't sure what became of her business. Although from the looks of it, it seems to have been a success.

Sitting in the living room, Rera kicks her feet. Waiting for Loki to finish washing the dishes. At this time, Zhongli is out to hand medicine to Xiao. And Venti is out at a tavern – drunk or performing.

"Loki, is Ningguang busy right now?" Rera asked as she brushed her hair.

"No. She decided to close up for today." He answered, wiping a plate with a towel. "Why?"

"Just want to pay her a visit."

"Hmm...she's out by the wharf if you wanna know."

"Alright. I want to catch up with her when you're done. Take your time."

"Got it."

"..."

Standing up, Rera headed towards a nearby trash can. Plucking her hair out of the brush, she dumped it into the trash can. As she threw away the last of the hair, Rera's vision began to glitch. What she currently saw was confusing it for the past. The past, a time before Loki came along.

(Flashback to ???)

Alone in a large room, a little girl stood above a trash can. Crumpling up papers and throwing away letters – telling her that she received a perfect score on a state test. Earlier that week, she had sent emails and photos to her parents. She talked about her scores and asked if she made them proud.

Patiently, she waited. Waited and waited and waited...for nothing. Not a single response. Not a single word. Not a single notification. There was no reply whatsoever. Angered, Rera threw it all away. She stuffed them all down when it began to overflow.

But as she cut her finger, watching blood fall, she lost it. She began to punch and kick the trash can. Eventually, it fell as she beat it up. Venting all of her pent-up rage onto the trash can.

"WHY?! WHY DAMN IT?!" Rera screamed, crying angry tears. "WHY WON'T YOU TALK TO ME?! WHEN WILL YOU EVER LOOK AT ME?! MOM! DAD!"

"WHAT DID I DO?! HOW?! WHEN?! WHEN WILL YOU FINALLY LOOK MY WAY?! Tell me...! PLEASE!"

"TELL ME!!!"

"My lady!"

!!!

Thud!

Looking down, Rera felt the pain of the brush's handle hit her foot. Sweating, Rera breathed heavily as she held her head in confusion. Back then, she remembered how much her parent's avoidance had caused her so much pain. Not even the slightest shred of attention. It angered her. It confused her. Did she do something wrong? Must she try even harder? Rera didn't know. She never knew at all.
