"Hmm? A new schedule?" Rera questioned as she ate her breakfast.
"Yes, I have given it much thought after what you pulled yesterday." Xiao nodded.
"...Well? What's the verdict?"
"Starting next week, Monday and Tuesday, we will focus on controlling your Adeptal Energy. Wednesday and Thursday will be for fusing Adeptal Energy into weapons. As for the next two days..."
Looking to the side, Xiao was hesitant. Especially what he saw from the day before. If Rera were to try and control her Adeptal Energy and her correspondent element at the same time, then it would most likely turn out like yesterday.
"...You will spend those last two days practicing what you've learned. And we will continue this process until you understand your power better." Xiao concluded.
"Alright, I think I can work out with that schedule." Rera nodded.

Playing around with her vegetables, Rera contemplated. She was well aware of the events from yesterday. Loki had filled her in, but she still felt upset. She hurt someone who was only trying to protect her. As she desperately tried to shake him awake, she couldn't think of him as Xiao, but as her deceased friend – Rai.
"...Xiao?"
"What is it?"
"I'm sorry for-"
"I do not need your apologies." He huffed.
"But I hurt you, and I-"
"You don't need to. What you did yesterday was a result of improper training. If anything, it was my fault for not teaching you well enough."
"No, it's not you-"
"That is why I will work harder to make sure you can live without dealing with your explosive power."

"I am well aware that this will not be easy for you. But...if you can overcome this problem soon and enjoy your life, then I will do everything that I can to make that a reality."
"But...why? Why do you care so much? I barely even know you. I'm just an assignment handed to you by Zhongli."
"How rude of you to think that I simply see you as an assignment. I'll have you know that I have my own beliefs and principles."

"You know...for someone who has pushed away other people to keep them safe, you're not as cold or heartless as they say." Rera smiled softly.

Somehow, his words had quelled the guilt that Rera felt. He may not be one for words, but his sincerity behind it was real. Xiao meant it, that's all that mattered. No half-baked words, no lies, just his sincerity and kindness. And in that moment, those words have made their way into her heart.
