Several days have passed since Rera's encounter with Boreas. She managed to finish all of the monster commissions in Wolvendom, now focusing on Brightcrown Canyon.
Upon entering the main area, Rera sensed the presence of many monsters. Wanting to know why there were so many, Rera soon shook it off as she began her hunt.
Alice stood by her side and watched from a safe distance, observing Rera as she fought. She knew how stubborn Rera was when it came to doing things on her own, but that was something Alice loved about her.
Shrieeek!
Thud!
"Wow! Wonderful job Rera!" Alice smiled as she clapped.
Wiping off the sweat on her forehead, Rera felt an incoming attack and dodged it. Alice watched as Rera continued to massacre Hilichurls, but she noticed something...interesting.
Once Rera was finished, she walked back to Alice and opened her backpack, looking for her water.
"Say...why don't you use your Vision?" Alice asked.
"...I have my reasons." Rera spoke as she drank her water.
"Your Adeptal Energy isn't suited for hunting. Well...actually, it's a bit...overkill."
"I know...but I can't use my Vision. I haven't even used it at all."
"When did you get it?"
"...My birthday, and the day I reincarnated." Rera spoke, closing her bottle.
"Oh..."
"..."
"W-well! It's getting late, so why don't we set up camp here?" Alice awkwardly laughed.
"Okay. I'll set up the fire." Rera nodded.
"I'll keep watch tonight, you focus on resting. I'm sure using all of that Energy is putting a toll on you." Alice smiled, patting her head.
"Mm, okay."
As Rera walked off to gather firewood, Alice waited until she was out of sight and walked a little further into the woods.
Standing in front of a tree, Rera knelt as she gathered the branches beneath it.
"My lady, I've been meaning to ask about your Vision..." Loki spoke.
"Not you too..." Rera groaned.
"I'm aware that you aren't...fond of electricity. But don't you think that it's time to-"
Snap!
"..."
"...Never mind." Loki sighed.
"I know that I have to use it eventually, but...I'm scared that I'll hurt someone...especially if Alice is nearby."
"Yeah, considering the last time you used it, you almost killed Xiao."
"..."
"Okay, I'll shut up now."
With a sigh, Rera picked up the branches and walked back to the camping spot. But as she got there, she realized that Alice wasn't there. Worried, Rera set the sticks down as she went looking for her.
Hearing soft voices in the woods, Rera slowly approached it. Listening in, she heard Alice talking to someone.
"Yes."
"..."
"She's doing fine!"
"..."
"Why...worried? It's...like she's...anyway...!"
