Rera's training continued without problem. She spent her days controlling her Adeptal Energy and infusing it into weapons. Time went on and before she knew it, a month had passed.
On a hot summer Sunday, Rera decided to take on a quest from the Adventurer's Guild. Recalling her last quest, quite some time had passed since she had shown up to the Guild.
The young Adeptus stood at the counter as she waited for Lyra to give her a request. While waiting, she overheard something interesting from the patrons.
"Hey, did you hear about the ghost roaming around Mondstadt?"
"Ghosts? Seriously? Who believes in that crap anymore?"
"No! I'm serious! I saw it! I looked out of my window last night and saw something moving roof to roof!"
"It's probably just a cat or something."
"I mean...maybe but it was weird."
"What?"
"I might be wrong...but the direction they were running away from was close to a guy who got poisoned."
"The same one in the papers?"
"Yeah! The guy was running his mouth about something and spreading some real important information."
"What was it?"
"Dunno. If anything, I might be next if I knew it!"
"Here you are Rera." Lyra spoke, placing some papers on the counter.
"Ah, thanks Lyra." Rera smiled, "Hey, do you know anything about the person who got poisoned?"
"Not exactly. All I know is that they had some dirt on one of the noble families."
"Couldn't they just threaten him to stay silent?"
"That could work, but they can file a report and have an idea of who threatened them."
"I see...what about the ghost?"
"Ghost?"
"I heard one of the patrons talk about a ghost leaving the crime scene."
"Hmm...I don't know anything about that, sorry."
"It's okay, uhhh...I'll do this request!"
"Another monster subjugation? Haha, you must really like fighting." Lyra chuckled, "Alright, stay safe and good luck!"
"Thanks!"
As Rera walked out of the Guild, she communicated with Loki.
"Hey Loki, do you think we can investigate this mystery?"
"The fuck do we look like? This isn't Scooby-Doo."
"Ooh! But I really wanna see a ghost though! I wonder if I can fight them..."
"They're a ghost. The hell are you gonna hit? Air?"
"Just humor me for a bit! C'mon, I'm bored!"
"No. It's irrelevant and a waste of time."
"Boo, you're no fun."
"Hmm...but I wonder what this guy knew before he died. Must've been pretty important if he got poisoned."
"Right?! So we should-"
"I'm curious, not in the mood to solve this mystery."
"Tch."
(A few hours later)
After taking on several quests, Rera returned to the Guild to claim her rewards. While waiting, she looked around for the two Adventurers who were talking about the ghost. The one who brought the topic up sat alone at a table drinking out of a wooden mug. She walked up to him and ignored Loki's aggravating warnings.
