A month into her training, Rera had been improving greatly. Even as time moved slowly, Rera had no complaints. Each day spent in the Pocket Dimension equaled to one hour in the real world. It felt like ages until she could see Zhongli or the others. But as determined as ever, Rera carried on and did her best.
Rera managed to firmly control her Adeptal Energy with so much training. So much so that she could control it as if it were water. Correcting the flow and running her hands through the rushing current. It was difficult to move her hands through the current, for it would reject her and did not listen.
Even still, Rera made it listen to her. And with time, the flow that had rejected her learned to accept her commands. Now, she could finally move on to the next step: transferring Adeptal Energy into weapons.
Finishing her nap in the waterfall's cave, Rera awoke to a delicious smell – a lunchbox made by Zhongli. Conversing with Xiao as they discussed the next step.
"You recall what Cloud Retainer has spoken to you about this method, right?" Xiao asked.
"Nope!" Rera spoke, swallowing a piece of her sandwich.
"..."
"Look, it's been weeks within the Pocket Dimension." Rera sighed, closing the lid of the lunchbox. "My mind is still developing so don't blame me if I don't remember."
"...Fine. Cloud Retainer has told you that transferring Adeptal Energy into your weapons will add to the percentage that you have mastered. So in other words, this will help you greatly." Xiao explained.
"Ooh! ARE WE GONNA FIGHT WITH WEAPONS NOW?!" She excitedly asked.
"Stop yelling."
"YAY! I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS!"
"I said stop-"
"WHAT WEAPON AM I GONNA USE FIRST?! CAN I PICK?!"
"Stop-"
"OH! I WANNA USE A SWORD! CAN I USE A- OW?!"
"I said stop yelling." Xiao huffed, flicking her forehead.
"But I was super excited..." Rera pouted.
"You won't be as excited once you learn that you will be fighting me in your final test."
"..."
Almost as if she heard the worst news ever, Rera lowered her head in defeat. Not only did she have to train like hell, but she had to fight Xiao – the Conqueror of Demons who has fought demonic monstrosities for more than a thousand years. He excels in all types of weaponry and has centuries of experience. How could Rera, a five-year-old, possibly hope to top him?
"Ah. I'm doomed."
"However, with how quickly you understood my lessons, I believe it should take you 210 years before you could best me." Xiao mentioned
"THAT IS STILL ONE HELL OF A LONG TIME! Ugh...this is so annoying..."
"I have been meaning to ask, but is there a specific reason you have been in a rush?"
"What do you mean?"
"You seem...in a hurry. We Adepti can live for centuries, even the Half ones can live that long. But whatever it is you are pursuing; it seems to be soon. Why is that?"
"..."
"How do I tell a video game character that this is a fictional story and that the main character is gonna come and save this world?"
