As the weeks flew by, Rera has been busy adventuring. Taking on commissions and requests, she was reaching her rank trial. Although she took on many quests above her rank and met the requirement, she decided to do the necessary number of quests before she could advance to the next rank.
She would come to the Guild early in the morning, accept multiple quests, then come back late at night. She feared that she might run into Ashe, so she kept an eye out. One day, as she was accepting a handful of quests, the doors of the Guild suddenly burst open.
"Aha! I've found you!" A woman's voice spoke.
Recognizing this voice, Rera slowly turned around before getting bear-hugged by Alice.
"Wow! Look at you, Rera! An Adventurer at your age?! How adorable! Haha!" Alice squealed as she hugged her tightly.
"Ugh...A-Alice...good morning...!" Rera struggled to breathe.
"Ah! My apologies!" She exclaimed, letting her go. "I just heard the news from another Adventurer that a little girl with white hair and red eyes joined the Guild! I could not be happier!"
"So...uh...where have you been?"
"Secret~" She winked, "Sorry for leaving you alone, is Rinea taking care of you by chance?"
"...I uh..."
"..."
"I'm...on my own for a bit. I have stuff to do."
"Oh yeah, that's right! You're in the middle of your test, right? How's it going so far? Any updates?"
"I'm not close to finishing." Rera chuckled, "But I'm making good progress."
"Then mind if I recommend something to you?"
"What is it?"
"Would you like to travel with me for a bit? We'll still be in Mond, but I know a good place with monsters!"
Rera's blood-red eyes sparkled with excitement as she smiled widely.
"Monsters?! Where?! Tell me!"
"Hehe...! All the way in Brightcrown Canyon!" Alice proudly announced.
"..."
"Loki?"
"Yes?"
"Isn't there a lot of Abyss Order activity happening in that area?"
"Mmm...not in Brightcrown Canyon, but Stormterror's Lair. Don't you need to kill Abyss monsters anyway? What's the matter?"
"Remember when I fought that Abyss Mage?"
"Yeah? You struggled cuz it kept moving around and planning its attacks."
"I'm not experienced enough to deal with too many of them at the same time!"
"Hm? Rera? What's the matter? Aren't you excited to be traveling with me?" Alice asked.
"N-no! Of course, I am! It's just that...I have a hard time fighting Abyss Mages..." Rera chuckled awkwardly.
"Then I'll watch over you! I'll have your back! So come on! Let's go together!"
Looking back at Lyra, she gave Rera an awkward smile as she reached for papers under the desk.
"If you're going there, then how about these quests?" Lyra recommended as she smiled.
Looking at the papers, Rera saw a lot of monster subjugation quests. Matter of fact, it was the only type of quest. There were no retrieval quests or hunting quests, just monster hunting.
