CHAPTER 48: Life Full of Lies

(Zoe's POV)

Breathe...

Just breathe...

It's hard. Every time I try, my chest hurts. I can't stop the pain building up inside me pouring in the form of tears. I was sobbing hard, gripping the steering wheel tightly as I drive. I didn't even care how fast I had gone nor where my car is taking me.

I just found myself in front of the condo building. I hastily wiped my tears away. Quickly, I got off the car and went to my unit. Closing the door behind me, I collapsed to the floor. I held my mouth to muffle the sobs leaving my body. Good thing he's not here. I don't want to see him yet. Not now.

But it seems like I couldn't escape him. I heard the door of my bedroom opened and he went out. Upon seeing me, he hurriedly went near me.

"Ella, what happened? Are you alright?" he asked, holding my hand while his other hand caressing my shoulders. "You told me earlier that you are not feeling well. Nung nasa opisina na ako, di ako mapakali at kinakabahan ako kaya bumalik ako dito. Pero pagdating ko wala ka. Anong nangyari? Why are you crying?" I continued crying and I felt him pulled me into a hug.

"May masakit ba sayo? I'll take you to the hospital." He was about to carry me but I quickly pushed him. He's obviously stunned of what I did. Composing myself, I shakily rose to my feet. I marched towards the sofa and sat down. He immediately followed. Kneeling in front of me, he held my face with his both hands.

"Tell me what's going on. Baby, you're scaring me."

I grabbed his hand and slapped it away. "Until when Tristan?"

"What?" he asked, confusion filled his face.

I scoffed. "Until when are you going to lie to me?"

"What are you talking about?"

"I know you exactly know what I am talking about!" I exclaimed.

"Hindi ako manghuhula Ella, sabihin mo sa akin. Ano bang–"

"You're cheating on me... with Erinn." I said in disgust. His eyes widened and seem taken aback but he was quick to hide it, too late though, I already saw his shock.

Long silence enveloped the atmosphere. He didn't say anything which made my already shattered heart more broken. He was too guilty to defend himself.

"Ella, let me explain." He reached for my hand but I quickly rose to my feet and took a step backwards.

"Explain? No need Tristan. Everything is clear now. You cheated on me! You..." my voice cracked. "You were fvcking another woman behind my back."

"Ella, look, I'm sorry. Isang beses lang yun nangyari. At hindi ko yun sinasadya. Believe me."

I mockingly laughed. "Isang beses? Well, congratulations! Magaling ka! Nagbunga na yung isang beses niyo."
