CHAPTER 25: You're Unbelievable

(Zoe's POV)

"Mag bake ka ulit ha, para sa akin?"

"Ano ka, sinuswerte?"

"Bahala ka, di ako aalis." Sabi niya sabay upo ulit niya sa sofa.

"Sige na, oo na."

"Talaga?"

"Oo nga. Alis na." Hinila ko siya papunta sa pinto.

"Promise yan ah?'

Binuksan ko yung pinto, "Kulit mo! Alis na!" tinulak siya palabas. "Bye!" tapos sinara ko na.

Bumalik na ako sa loob at niligpit yung mga kalat. Pagkatapos kong magligpit, nagpunta ako sa kusina para kumuha sana ng canned juice pero pagtingin ko sa fridge, ubos na pala. Dapat na talaga akong mag grocery. Sa sabado nalang siguro.

"Makabili na nga lang." Lumabas ako para pumunta sa 7eleven. 15 minutes walk lang naman siya mula sa building.

Pagdating ko dun, bumili na agad ako. Dinamihan ko na tutal ubos naman na yung ganto sa bahay. Nagbukas ako ng isang juice pagkalabas ko at umupo sa isang bakanteng table. I was sitting silently watching the cars that pass by when someone interrupted me.

"Hi." He greeted as he sat at the vacant seat in front of me.

Lakas maka greet ng lalakeng 'to, akala mo naman hindi nanakit kanina.

I look at him before I drank the last drop of the orange juice and left. Naglakad na ako pabalik sa building pero sumunod siya at sinabayan pa ako.

Tumigil ako sa paglalakad, "Ano ba, wala ka bang magawa?"

"What? Bakit ang sungit mo?"

"Huwag mo kase akong sinusundan."

"I am not."

Binubwisit talaga ako ng lalakeng 'to.

"Eh bat ka nakasunod?"

"This is the right way towards my condo."

"Eh di maghanap ka ng ibang daan, bawal dito."

"Sinong may sabi?" He asked mockingly. Halata naman sa kanya na inaasar niya ako. At ang mas nakakainis pa ay bwisit na bwisit na ako ngayon kaya mukhang mas natutuwa pa siya.

"Ako!"

"Oh, I believe you do not own this street. And as far as I know, this is a public property. So that means everyone is very free to take this way."

God, pigilan niyo ako masasakal ko na to.

"Stop stalking me."

He chuckled upon hearing what I said, "I already told you baby I am not stalking you."

What did he just say? Baby? What the hell!

"If you're not stalking me then why the hell did you followed me at 7eleven, why did you walk after me, why were you like a shroom who comes out suddenly and most of all, why are we neighbors?" I cocked my head upon asking those with a raised brow.

"Paki ulit nga lahat ng tanong, di ko nakuha eh."

Isa nalang talaga, mapapatay ko na 'to. Shut up na ako. Inaasar lang naman ako nito eh, kahit anong gawin ko, ako parin yung talo.

I closed my eyes out of frustration and took a deep breath. "Just spare me." Honestly, seeing him enrages every nerve in me.

Biglang sumeryoso yung mukha niya, "I wouldn't do that." He then looked directly into my eyes. "You know why?"

"W-why?" Suddenly, I'm stuttering.

"Because you just told me you hate me."

"That's the point! You should stay away because I hate you. Don't you think that is a signal that one should avoid a certain person because he knows that that person hates him?" That line was quite spoken out loud, literally loud. I didn't mind the people walking to and fro around us.

"Yes, at some point, but no, especially in our situation." I creased my forehead. What does he mean no expecially in our situation? "Hatred is a fervid feeling Ella. You hate me to death. That only means you still have feelings for me, and intense feelings to be exact. Now tell me, why would I spare the person whom I love if I know she still have feelings for me? Right, babe?"

"You're unbelievable!" Bulalas ko. The fuck! What kind of brain does he have? Kung may taong ayaw sa akin ay iiwas na ako no, lalo pa't kinamumuhian ako ng taong yun. Iiwas na ako sa gulo.

"Thank you."

Napaawang ang bibig ko. "God, that's not even a compliment."

"It was, actually."

My mouth hung open again. He was so mean... arrogant.

"And by the way, I didn't follow you to 7eleven, I actually bought something and then I saw you. Me, walking after you? I already told you we are heading the same place. I was like a shroom who suddenly comes out anywhere? It was just coincidence. And most of all, I never planned to be your neighbor. I didn't even know you live in our building."

"Your building?"

"Our family owns it." He plainly said, shrugging.

They own that building? AE Towers, yan ang pangalan ng building. Napapikit ako dahil sa realization. Oh shoot! AE Towers... AE... Andrade Empire! Bakit di ko naisip yun? Goodness gracious! Bakit ba kase ang yaman nila?

"I'll go ahead so wouldn't be thinking I'm stalking you. Bye, baby."

He kissed my cheeks before he left and I was there standing in the middle of the busy streets dumbfounded.
