CHAPTER 49: Escape

(Zoe's POV)

'Ladies and gentlemen, we've just been cleared to land at Heathrow Airport. Please make sure one last time that your seatbelt is securely fastened...'

I heard the flight attendant announced which brought me back to my senses. I was spacing out the whole time. I took the earliest flight as possible after I left my condo. I've decided to get back to London without telling anyone, neither Cindy nor Clive. I had no choice. I wanted to get away from him and this is the only place I could go far from his presence. I put seatbelt on just like what the FA told us. The captain then told us to prepare for landing. Moments after, I felt the plain made contact with the ground, turning off the active runway and taxiing to the gate.

I took a cab after claiming my luggage at the terminal. I went home. Since it's still 1 in the afternoon, I'm sure Mom, Dad, Kuya Sky & Ate Clary are still at work. I pressed the doorbell and a security immediately opened the gate. He greeted me and I just gave him a subtle smile. A helper quickly took my bags as she accompanied me inside.

"Maam Zoe, hindi po sinabi sa amin ng Daddy at Mommy niyo na darating kayo ngayon." She said as soon as we got in. My parents hire Filipino people to work for us. Mas kumportable daw kase iyon para naman mapalibutan sila ng mga kababayan namin kahit nandito sila sa ibang bansa.

"Hindi po nila alam na pupunta ako dito."

"Gusto niyo tawagan ko nalang po sina Sir?"

"No need. Nasa trabaho pa sila baka maistorbo ko lang. Uuwi din naman sila mamaya."

"Sige po. Kumain po muna kayo."

"Wag na. I'll just go to my room and take a nap. I'm still jetlagged. Paki lagay nalang ng mga gamit ko sa taas. Salamat."

She nodded and said. "Okay po Maam."

I took the stairs and went to my room. I slouched myself at the bed feeling exhausted. Then slowly, I drifted to sleep.

I woke up with someone pinching my cheeks. I lazily opened my eyes and I saw my brother grinning from ear to ear.

"Kuya." I said acknowledging him. I sat up.

"Looks like someone wants to surprise us."

I slightly smiled as I roamed my eyes around. I realized it's already evening.

"Dinner's ready. Let's go downstairs."

"Okay. Bihis lang ako tas susunod nadin ako."

He nodded and stood up. He walked towards the door and left. Pagkatapos kong magbihis ay bumaba narin ako at pumunta sa dining area. Pagdating ko doon ay agad akong sinalubong ng mahigpit na yakap ni Mommy.

"Honey, I miss you so much."

"I miss you too Mom." I whispered as I hugged her back. Nakita ko naman si Daddy na nakatayo sa likod ni Mommy. Kumalas ako kay Mommy at yumakap naman kay Dad.

"I miss you Dad."

He kissed my temple and said, "I miss you more. Pero mamaya na muna tayo magyakapan kase gutom na si daddy mo."
