Chapter 14

CHAPTER 14: Party

(Zoe's POV)

Ngayon ang party sa condo kaya uuwi ako nang maaga. Dumaan ako sa mall para bumili ng sapatos at dress kase napansin ko na wala na akong masusuot. I arrived at home 6 pm and the party is starting at eight. I still have two hours to prepare.

I indulge myself first at the tub for thirty minutes and then started to fix myself. I put a little make up and curled my hair a little. I wore a black dress matched with a stiletto. Pagtingin ko sa wall clock, it's already 8:05.

After a few minutes, I guided myself towards the rooftop. Doon kase gagawin ang party. I just don't understand why they have to conduct a party kung wala namang pakialamanan ang mga unit owners. Is it really necessary for us to know each other? Well, I guess not. Pero sige na nga. There's no wrong with parties. It's fun, anyway.

The party has already started pagdating ko. Parang ginawa nilang bar yung rooftop at may, may dj pa sa gitna. I looked at the unfamiliar faces around me, there were people dancing at the center, some were drinking. May iba rin na nasa pool at nag s-swimming. They're all party people. Pansin ko din, most of the people were young. Wala pa akong nakikitang may mga edad, siguro yung pinakamatanda ay mga 30 to 35 years old.

I went near the bar counter. I asked for a drink. Nakaupo lang ako. I am starting to get bored. Wala naman akong kakilala dito eh. Sana pala inimbitahan ko nalang si Cindy or si Clive. Nabigla ako nang may biglang nagsalita.

"Hi." The stranger's voice said.

I looked up and saw a foreign guy standing right beside me. Nakahilig ang kanyang kanang balikat sa counter. I gave him a slight smile.

"I'm Blake by the way, you are?" he offered his hands. He has an Australian accent.

"Zoe." Sabay kuha ko sa kamay niya para makipag shake hands.

"Nice meeting you Zoe. Alone?" tanong niya sabay upo dun sa bakanteng upuan next to me.

"Yeah." Tipid kong sagot.

"I see." He said before asking the bartender for a drink. "So, are you a newbie here? I didn't see you at the party few months ago."

Ah, so nag c-conduct pala talaga sila ng party dito. I see.

"Oo, mag o-one month pa lang ako."

Tumango-tango lang siya. I took a sip at my drink. "So, what's the real purpose of this party?" I asked him. I'm really curious. If they already had a party few months ago, bakit meron na naman ngayon?

"They say that this is for acquainting every owner and to think we already had a party, two or three months ago. I don't know, I think this is really because the owner of this condominium building is now living here."

Ah yun pala. I nodded. "Who's the owner?" I asked.

"I didn't meet him yet but I know his name. It's..."

Nagulat ako nung biglang nag vibrate ang phone ko. Clive calling...

"Excuse me, I'll just answer this call." Paalam ko sa kanya. Tumango siya at ngumiti tas pumunta ako sa may dulo ng rooftop, hindi kase masyadong maingay ang part na yun.

"Hey, how's the party?" tanong niya sa kabilang linya.

"Okay lang."

"Mukhang bored ka sa tonong yan."

"Bored nga, wala akong kakilala." sabi ko. They're all unfamiliar. Kahit mga ka schoolmates ko dati sa college or high school ay wala.

"Sabi kase sayo labas nalang tayo eh." Paninisi niya sa akin. He slightly chuckled on the other line.

"Psh. Mamaya ka na nga tumawag, mag e-enjoy muna ako sa party. Bye!" then I hanged up. Mangungulit na naman yun na umalis na ako sa party tas lumabas kami. Kanina niya pa yun litanya eh. Na huwag nalang daw akong umattend.

I put my phone inside my purse and was about to leave when I bumped into someone.

"Oops! I'm sorry." I said as an apology.

"It is fine." His voice said.

I froze upon hearing the voice I longed to hear for almost a year. I slowly arched my face to confirm if he's really the person in front of me and to my surprise, it is really him... that thick eyebrows, chiseled jaw, that dark smokey eyes and thin thin lips... Damn! It is really him... the person who tore me apart, my ex-boyfriend, Tristan Jacques Andrade.
