CHAPTER 45: Weird

(Zoe's POV)

I stared at the screen of my laptop and I sighed. It's just been three days but I already miss him so much. I wasn't used to be in this house without him, it just felt so empty.

We just finished talking on skype. Pero sandali lang. Hindi ata kami umabot ng 5 minutes. Ganun naman talaga palagi, pag nag-uusap kami lagi siyang nagmamadali. Naiintindihan ko naman dahil alam kong busy siya sa trabaho niya sa Cebu. Kung pwede lang na sumunod ako ng Cebu, gagawin ko.  I really hope he'd come home sooner.

Sinubsob ko nalang din ang sarili ko sa trabaho. Para naman may distraction ako sa pagka miss ko sa kanya. I came home late at night. Hindi ko talaga feel yung bahay na 'to pag wala siya. This is so not healthy. The moment I reached home, I immediately soaked myself at the tub. Feeling ko masyado na talaga akong stressed out. Nagiging dependent na ata talaga ako kay Tristan. Few minutes later, I took a shower and dressed up after.

I lay myself down at the bed and stared at the ceiling. Even this bed is getting cold without his presence. Hindi padin siya tumatawag. Gusto ko siyang tawagan pero sabi kasi niya sa akin hintayin ko lang daw siya na I contact ako. Baka kase daw pag ako ay di niya rin masagot. It's either he's on a meeting or he's doing some paper works. I don't want to disturb him too.

I closed my eyes and tried to sleep. Just as about I drift, my phone rang.

Tristan calling...

I smiled the moment I saw the caller ID. I didn't waste any seconds. Immediately, I grabbed my phone and answered the call.

"Hi babe!" I answered enthusiastically. I can't help but to squeal.

"Hey, how was your day?" he asked on the other line. His voice is quite raspy, maybe due to his exhausting day.

"It's... uh, fine, I guess?" I wasn't sure if my day really went well when all I could do is distract myself from missing him.

"Hm, why do I feel like it wasn't?"

"I miss you... so much. That's why. It feels so empty here."

I heard him heaved out a sigh on the other line. "I know, I miss you too. How I wish I am hugging you right now."

"Umuwi ka na kase." I told him. Masyado ng mahaba ang tatlong araw na nasa malayo siya.

"Sooner, baby. Malapit na akong matapos sa trabaho ko dito I'll be home the day after tomorrow."

"Okay. I'll see you soonest. Matulog ka na, halata naman sa boses mo na pagod ka na."

"Alright. Matulog ka na rin, okay? But don't hang up. I wanna hear you sleep. Goodnight babe, I love you so much."

"Goodnight, I love you so much too!"

I closed my eyes, phone still on my ear. The only thing I could hear was his breathing that turned into something lullaby as sleep took me.

Morning came. Naka off na ang tawag nang magising ako. But there's a text from him saying ...

'Goodmorning baby. I'll be busy today so I can't call you. I'll be home tomorrow, see you. I love you.'

I felt a pang of sadness but I shrugged it immediately. Di bale, uuwi narin naman siya bukas kaya konting tiis nalang. I've decided na hindi muna ako papasok ngayon, pupunta nalang ako ng grocery store para ready na pag uwi niya bukas. I'll cook something for him.
