He Suddenly Came Back

Chapter 2

CHAPTER 2: New Home

(Zoe's POV)

I am driving towards the condominium building at the moment with Cindy. We're somehow caught on traffic, and she keeps on complaining which is definitely annoying.

"Cinds, could you at least shut your mouth?" I suggested. It's seriously irritating, added by the hot weather and the traffic that which seem to have no end.

"How can I? We've been in the road for almost forever now, we should've been in your condo by this time." She said complaining for nth time. Ni hindi ko na mabilang kung ilang beses na siyang nagreklamo. One thing about her, she has no patience. Pag gusto niya, dapat nakukuha niya agad in just a snap.

"I know, I know. We have the same feelings dear, but please..." Nagmakaawa na ako sa kanya and luckily she followed and murmured 'Okay'. She's really desperate to see my new house to the point that she's more excited than me.

After an hour or more, we finally reached the building. She immediately jumped off the car as we parked in the underground space and then she quickly dragged me inside the lift. Goodness, why can't she at least hide her excitement?

"Anong floor? Daliiiii!"

I rolled my eyes as I muttered "20," and then she immediately pushed the button of the 20th floor.

Upon reaching the floor, we went to the front door of unit 201 which is obviously my unit.

"Anong code Zoe?"

Code? What code?

"Huh?"

"Passcode Zoe, passcode."

Oh shoot! I forgot to ask Mom. She had been here. She did all the arrangements, the interior design, she bought and prepared all the appliances and furnitures and everything. So I suppose alam niya ang passcode ng unit na ito.

"Seriously Zoe? Passcode ng unit mo, di mo alam?" she asked in disbelief. I'm sorry, okay?

"Okay, okay, I'll call Mom." I picked my phone from my pocket. I immediately dialed Mom's number.

Dialing Mom...

She answered after three rings.

"Yes, honey, what is it?" she asked

"Uhm, Mom, I forgot to ask what my passcode is."

"Oh, that, yes of course! Sorry I forgot to tell you, too. It's 1015."

"It's 1015."

"It's 1015."

Nagpaulit-ulit ang boses ni Mommy sa tainga ko na mistulang sirang plaka. I didn't even notice Mom already hanged up and that Cindy is already talking in front of me.

"Hey! Earth to Zoe." She said waving her hands in front of my face just when I realized I'm already spacing out.

"Huh?" Wala sa sariling kong sambit sa kanya.

Tumaas ang kilay ni Cindy sa akin. "Passcode now?" Hindi parin ako sumagot kaya pinalakpak niya ang kanyang kamay sa harap ng mukha ko.

"Oh! It's 1015." Tumango naman siya sa akin at ngumisi. Akmang pipindutin niya na upang mabuksan ng pinto nang biglang siyang humarap sa akin. "1015?" She asked again and I nodded. "1015?!" Tumaas na ang boses niya this time. She stared at me, half disbelieving. "What. The. Hell." Tumango-tango na lamang ako. What the hell talaga. I mean, sa lahat ng numbers ay iyan talaga? It's his fucking birthday and our anniversary for Christ's sake!

"Whatever." I muttered. "Pwede naman yang palitan." Sabi ko bago iminuwestra ang pinto at pumasok na kamis sa loob.

Her eyes glittered as we enter the unit, even mine actually. Mom's really good at things like this. The dominant color of paint is white and has a touch of brown – it's perfect, so light, big and cozy. Mayroon itong dalawang bedroom. The master's bedroom looks exactly like my room in our house, but a little bigger. We wandered the whole unit. The whole unit has a carpeted floor.

"Geez! I love your house." Cindy exclaimed admiring everything. "What if dito nalang din ako titira."

"Yeah?" I asked and she nodded, "so you could pig my stocks and everything? Sorry, but no. Besides, you have a house."

She rolled her eyes at me. She really is a bitch sometimes. No, I mean, most of the time. Lumaki kasing spoiled kaya napakabrat.

We decided to stay there for a few more hours. Tiningnan ko din kung ano pa ang pwede kong idagdag sa unit although almost kumpleto na naman siya ng gamit. Then I dropped by the shop before going home.
