CHAPTER 53: Made Up Mind

(Zoe's POV)

I checked my things as soon as I finished packing. I already booked my flight back to the Philippines. I grabbed my luggage and shoulder bag and went downstairs.

I'm really afraid to leave. I didn't inform them about this because I know Kuya wouldn't allow me to go back. But I have to. Nang makababa ako nang hagdan ay sakto namang nakasalubong ko si Kuya. He looked at my things and then he shot his eyes to me, rather puzzled.

"Princess, what's the meaning of this?"

"Kuya, I'm going back to the Philippines."

"What?!" he blurted out. "Are you crazy?"

"Kuya, I've made up my mind. I need to go back."

"No." he firmly said. I already saw this coming.

"Kuya, you need to understand. Hindi habambuhay pwede akong manatili dito. Marami rin akong naiwan sa Pilipinas. Paano yung shop ni Mommy dun? I have responsibilities there. I couldn't just leave it behind."

"Yun lang ba talaga ang dahilan?" he asked mockingly.

"Kuya..."

He scoffed. "Really Zoe? Pagkatapos ng ginawa niya sayo babalik ka parin sa kanya?"

I bit my lip before I spoke. "Kuya, I'll go back to end whatever we have..." I paused. "I'll break up with him and have my closure. That's it."

He drove me to the airport. We still had few arguments before he decided to agree with me and let me go. He unloaded my bags from his car.

"I'm sorry but I only have little faith with your decision this time. Princess, I just hope you would stick to whatever you told me."

"I will Kuya." I said with affirmation.

He took a step forward and pulled me for a hug.

"Be careful." He whispered tapping my back.

"Kuya, I'm not going on a battle." I jokingly told him and he chuckled.

"Yeah, but soon enough you will facing a devil."

"Whatever you say my Prince..." I said and pulled away. "I better go before my plane leaves me."

"Okay, I love you."

"I love you too Kuya." I said as I kissed his cheek and left.

My heart immediately started to thump loudly the moment my feet stepped out of the plane. I send a message to Ivan to pick me up at the airport. When I finally got all my bags, I marched towards the arrival area. There, I could already see Ivan waiting outside. He smiled the moment he saw me walking towards him. Quickly, he took my luggage and put it on his car.

"Salamat at pumayag ka." He said and I just gave him a smile. "Saan mo ba gustong kumain bago natin siya puntahan?"

"No, Ivan. Let's just go straight to the condo."

"Alright." He nodded.

The loud thump of my chest doubled as soon as we arrived at the condo. Here we are at the door of his unit. I took a deep breath before I finally had courage to go inside. I walked directly to his room and I was welcomed with a very dark and messy surroundings. There are empty bottles of beer and broken glasses everywhere. His pillows and as well as the blankets are lying on the floor, chairs and vases are seem to be thrown to the walls. And there he is on his bed, sleeping soundly as he lay on his stomach holding a bottle of beer.

"Tristan..." I called his name but he remained sleeping. "Tristan..."

That was when I decided to open the curtains and let the light of the sun emit inside. I heard him groan as he rolled over covering his eyes with his hands. "What the hell!" he shouted. He sat up, still adjusting his eyes with light.

His eyes landed on me. "Ella..." he stared at me for a while before he massaged his temple. "Goddamn it! I'm hallucinating again."

What? He thinks I'm just an illusion?

"Tristan..." I spoke. He turned his gaze to me. He just gave me a stare. "Stop staring."

He blinked for a few. It took him a moment before he realized that I was real. He immediately went near me and welcomed me into his embrace.

"You're real. You're back." He uttered and held my face. "You're here now. I'm not hallucinating anymore. You came back."

"Yeah, I did. We'll talk later but right now, you should take a shower. You really do stink. I'll be on my unit."

I told Ivan to call some cleaning service for Tristan's condo. Afterwards, I went to my condo unit. I roamed my eyes. It's been a month. It's still the same back when I left – the arrangement, the smell and the warmth. How I missed this place. I walked towards my room and sat on my bed. I closed my eyes. I hope I made the right decision for coming back.

Few moments after, I heard my door creaked and Tristan went in.

"Hey." He said walking towards me. He seemed to age a couple of years. He looked stressed out like he hadn't had enough sleep for days. He had grown some mustache and seems to have forgotten to shave for weeks.

I stood up.

I was about to talk but he closed the distance between. His left hand is holding my nape while the other one is snaked around my waist as he kissed me passionately. I refused to kiss him back but my body betrayed me. The next thing I knew, I was already responding to him. I felt my back touched the softness of my bed. "I missed you." He whispered. He began showering me small kisses from forehead to my cheeks down to my jawline and to my neck. "I missed you so much."

"Tristan..." I tried to protest but rather end up sounding like a moan.

I felt his hand entering my blouse and that brought me back to my senses. "Tristan stop..." I gently pushed him. "This isn't right."

"I'm sorry." He apologized as he looked at me dearly. "I was just too carried away. I'm just so happy that you're here now."

I heaved out a sigh. "About that Tristan..." I trailed off. "I came here because I wanted to end up everything between us."

"What? What are you talking about?"

"I... I can't be with you again after what happened."

"Of course you can. Ella, we love each other. I love you..." he reached for my face and caressed it. "You don't have to do this."

I shook my head and held his hand. "I have to. Don't worry, I'm on the process of forgiving you but please, we have to break up." I would be a hypocrite if I say that I don't love him anymore. I do, I really do... so much. I'm willing to forgive him but it isn't right to stay with him. He is going to be a father. I am not going to be the reason for that child to grow up without a dad. Every child deserves a complete family.

"No, baby, I love you. We're not breaking up." He said with pleading eyes.

"Don't make this any harder Tristan. Stop complicating things. Just let me go."
