Chapter 27

CHAPTER 27: Haven

(Zoe's POV)

"This is kidnapping!" I exclaimed, my voice echoed in the four corners of his car.

He smirked while his face if still on the road, he was driving. "You're not even a kid, that's not kidnapping."

"Are you trying to put up some joke mister?" nagpapaka pilosopo na naman siya.

"It wasn't a joke but you are free to laugh at it."

"I don't find it funny so why laugh?" I rolled my eyes, "And just so you know, kidnapping isn't only phrased for kids, it's for all ages who were seized unlawfully, genius." I said emphasizing the 'genius'. Duh, I could give him a dictionary for him to read what kidnapping means. "But then if you're not accepting the word kidnapping, abduction then."

He got something from his pocket and handed me his phone. I raised my brow. "What am I going to do with your phone?"

"You call the police and then tell them you were abducted by a very handsome guy named Tristan Jacques Andrade." I rolled my eyes again because of his vanity. "Go on." He urged.

"No, thank you. Baka makulong ka pa, kawawa ka naman pag nagkataon."

He smirked again. Ugh! I want to erase that smirk on his face, it annoys me. "You think they'ed put me in prison. It's not like I forced you to come with me."

"You dragged me, it's forced."

"You never complained and let me drag you."

I frowned. What he said was partly true. Yeah, I never complained, hinayaan ko lang siya. Nung narinig ko yung sinabi niya na 'In our haven', bigla nalang lumundag yung puso ko. No matter how hard my brain says not to go, my heart already controlled my body. Maybe I missed the place, and I wanted to see it again... to be there again.

"Give me your phone!" I yelled at kinuha ko ang cellphone niya mula sa kamay niya.

"Oh, akala ko ba hindi ka na tatawag?"

"I've changed my mind." I turned on his phone and I stiffened upon seeing his screenlock picture. It was our picture. If was not mistaken, it was taken during his birthday. He was kissing my cheeks while I was having a pouted lip in the picture. I stared at it for a moment.

"Trying to reminisce, babe?" bigla siyang nagsalita kaya napatingin ako sa kanya. He's still wearing his playful smirk that I've always wanted to erase since I got into this car.

I immediately turned off his phone. "Concentrate on the road Tristan I don't want to die yet." I handed him back his phone but he didn't accept it. He kept his both hands on the steering wheel and put his eyes on the road and said, "I won't let you die yet, we're still going to get married."

I rolled my eyes for the nth time. This man!

Hindi na ako nagsalita pagkatapos nun and fortunately, naging tahimik din siya which is pinagpapasalamat ko naman hanggang sa makarating kami sa lugar. Tristan had driven all the way up to a big hill.

Pagdating namin, bumaba na agad siya at pinagbuksan ako ng pinto. I felt the cold breeze touched my skin as I went outside the car. My feet was shaking upon touching the ground for whatever reason, I'm somehow tensed. Maybe because it's been a long time since I went into this place. When was it exactly? 7 months, eight months or a year ago? That was when I was still mourning of his sudden disappearance. This is the only place I go when I am feeling lonely and sad whenever he's got into my mind, well, before.

I slowly walked towards the car's hood and sat beside him. "I missed this place." He whispered.

I could still remember the first time I got in here. That was when I found out he has a secret place. Dahil sa kakulitan ko, isinama niya ako sa secret place niya which is here. Sabi pa niya, dito daw siya pumupunta pag gusto niyang mag relax o mapag-isa lalo na kapag malungkot siya at masama ang loob. I was even disappointed dahil labasan pala niya ng kalungkutan ang magandang lugar na 'to kaya sinabi ko sa kanya nun na hindi na 'to pwedeng tapunan ng sama ng loob at simula sa raw na yun, inangkin na namin ang lugar.

It was just a cliché kind of place where you can see the entire city and it's marvelous. Right in that moment, we made it our elated place, our safe zone, our sanctuary, our haven.

Nakakatawa nga na sinabi kong bawal tapunan 'to ng sama ng loob pero ako rin pala ang magtatapon. I broke my own rule.

I sighed. We had so many memories here. I missed this place really much. It's nice to be back.

"I missed being with you in this place." He said as he looked at me. I stared at him, more into his eyes. It looks so sincere and full of love. And then something got into me, maybe it wasn't just the place that my heart missed, maybe it was also the person I was sharing this place with.
