"You were holed up in your office a long time. I was afraid I'd eat dinner alone," she said, setting the table out on the patio.

Honestly, she thought he was avoiding her after their steamy encounter in the bathroom earlier.

"I apologize for that." He smiled sheepishly. "The conference call took longer than expected."

"I ordered steak for dinner, I hope you don't mind." She gestured for him to sit down.

"No, not at all, steak is perfect."

The ribeye steak covered in mushroom sauce and roasted vegetables looked mouth-watering.

She joined him after pouring wine into their glasses. "This is a lovely place you have here, spectacular views of the ocean and Lion's Head," she said, looking around as if seeing the place for the first time. She'd done some exploring while he was busy in his office and no expense was spared in lavishing the penthouse with exquisite opulence.

"Thank you. The views were a key selling point for me. Cape Town is known for its magnificent views, so it was imperative for me to acquire the best property."

"It must have cost a fortune."

"Let's just say it was worth every penny."

There was no doubt about that.

He took a bite of his piece of steak and seemed to be enjoying it more than she was. It was medium rare and she almost gagged after swallowing her first bite.

After spending the day with Anesu it was obvious that he was wealthy from the car he drove and his beachfront apartment, and according to Google he graduated from Oxford University and owned an engineering consulting firm, and from the little she overheard from his conference call earlier he was working on some big Rwandan project. He was also from a politically influential family like Lwazi.

Kgomotso knew now that dating him was out of the question because she had no desire to live her life under public scrutiny.

"Careful, if you keep staring at me like that we'd have to skip right to dessert." He smirked.

Oh my, his good looks still caught her off guard, he resembled a carefree teenager who had no business running a Multi-million Rand Company. She took a sip of her wine, quenching the over-whelming ache to kiss his perfectly shaped lips

A rosy hue invaded Kgomotso's face. "I-I'm-I apologize. I didn't even realize I was staring."

He waved off her apology. "You don't have to apologize. I'd also have to apologize if you could read my thoughts." His eyes lingered on her breasts and her blush deepened at his admission.

"It was a beautiful ceremony, wasn't it?" she said, changing the subject.

"Yeah, it was."

"Kamo made such a beautiful bride." She sounded and looked wistful.

"You were beautiful, too."

"But I wasn't the bride."

"You want to get married?"

Kgomotso sighed, having this conversation with Anesu didn't seem wise because he could start thinking she wanted something serious with him.

But you do.

"Someday...hopefully. And eventually have children, you know the whole nine yards before my biological clock runs out."

Her answer was all the confirmation Anesu needed not to pursue a relationship with Kgomotso because he was never getting married again. He knew better than anyone the sting of an unsuccessful marriage, but he wasn't about to divulge that piece of information.
