Pumpkin Spice

~Chapter Twenty-three~

Another full month had passed, it was now October. Halloween was only a few weeks away, meaning the boys would get a four day weekend. Killua was looking forward to this the most.

It was a boring Saturday, everyone was in the living room drained on the couch as the tv played. The four had already eaten breakfast, the plates covering the coffee table.

Killua and Gon had stayed up all night as they usually do on weekends. Due to this Kil was fast asleep on Gon's lap. Gon smiled at the boy, softly petting his hair.

There really wasn't much to do ever since school started back up again. But Gon always had ideas. "Let's go to the cafe! It's the perfect time to buy fall drinks and play at the park!" Gon exclaimed, then instantly settled down as he remembered the sleeping boy on his lap.

The couple that sat on the couch nodded, Kurapika couldn't wait to get his pumpkin spice latte. It was his favorite drink in the entire world, though only sold during the end of September through October.

Gon softly shook the sleeping boy in his lap. The blue eyes slowly opened, and the boy groaned as he stretched. "Hm?" Killua groaned sleepily as he sat up, rubbing his eyes.

Gon smiled. "We have to go get dressed," Gon said softly as he got off the couch. Killua nodded, then he and Gon headed into the room to change out of their pjs.

Everyone had gotten dressed into warm clothing, sooner heading out to the park.   The two younger boys were in the front as usual, holding each other's hand as they ran across the path.

Leorio and Kurpika smiled at the teens, making sure not to fall behind the running boys.  “Guys we’re going to the cafe first okay? Then after that we can go to the park,”   Leorio reminded the two, then instantly switching paths once they heard.  

Not too long later they entered the warm cafe, the smell of fresh pastries and drinks had drifted through the air.  Kurapika gleamed as the four stood in line.  It was obvious he enjoyed this place.

Leorio ordered for everyone, then they all waited by the side for their drinks to be ready.  Kurapika and Leorio were talking about getting jobs to help make more money for rent, while the younger boys stayed quiet and looked out the window.

None of the two had jobs, but Leorio got a monthly fee for being in doctor studies.  (clearly made up logic.)  But otherwise the two had no other income for cash. 

“Order 254!”  A woman behind the counter shouted, causing Leorio to walk up and gather the drinks.   Kurapika impatiently took his from the man's grip, Leorio smiling as he handed the younger boys their sugary drinks. 

They sooner made their arrival at the park, orange leaves covering the trees that lay across the area.   Killua and Gon instantly started playing with all the fallen leaves, throwing them at each other and running around.

Leorio and Kurapika found a bench not too far from where the boys were playing, sitting themselves down with their drinks.    Kura smiled when he took his first sip of his Pumpkin spice drink, enjoying the sweet beverage. 

Leorio then took a sip of his, eyes widened a bit at how good it was.  He had never tried the drink, and Kurapika had convinced him into trying it.   “You like it?” Kura asked as he noticed Leorio's expression.    Leorio nodded as he went in for another sip,  Kurapika doing the same with his drink. 

The other two had left their drinks with Leorio so they could goof off.   As Kurapika glanced at the younger boys, he chuckled at their actions.  They kept pushing each other in multiple piles of leaves that lay scattered across the grass.

As Leorio rested his eyes, the two snuck up on the non-alert man.    They did their best to hide their chuckles, then threw two huge piles of leaves on top of the man.  “Hey!”  He shouted as the two ran off laughing.   Kurapika couldn’t help but join in on the laughter, Leorio was covered in leaves.

Leorio soon started chasing after the two laughing boys, Kurapika laughing harder as the three ran around the park.   Killua stopped running and held his foot out, making both Gon and Leorio trip into a small pile of leaves.

Killua started laughing hard as the two sat there clueless of what just happened, then he plopped himself on top of Gon still laughing.  Kurapika grabbed out his phone, rushing to the three in the leaves. 
Perfect Family Photo. He thought while he sat down next to the three.  “Smile!”  Kurapika exclaimed.  Everyone smiled for the photo, Kurapika was in absolute awe as he saw the results. They all lay for a while until Kurapika rushed up and started running.

“My latte!!”  He shouted as he sprinted back to the bench.    Killua and Gon laughed while Leorio watched him with a smile. 

Kura had soon returned with all the drinks, the other three standing up and brushing the leaves off of them.  “We should head home,” Kurapika said before taking a long sip of his drink.  Leorio nodded, but the other two frowned.

“We wanna stay longer though!”  Gon complained,  Killua nodding in agreement.   “I'm sorry boys but the sun is already starting to set, and with this weather you guys would get sick!” Kurapika replied as he handed the drinks out. 

The younger boys let out a sigh before following Kurapika and Leorio out of the park.  It wasn’t late but due to weather the sun set a little earlier than usual. 

The exhausted family arrived at the house in a few minutes, Leorio handing Kurapika his drink to unlock the door.  Kurapika took a quick sip out of the drink before Leorio grabbed it.  Leo chuckled noticing the actions, everyone entering the house,

Kurapika and Gon had fallen asleep on the couch watching tv, leaving the other two wide awake. It was around eleven at night, and the two were discussing a random topic.   But it ended not long after it started, as Kurapika woke up and told the two to get to bed. 

Killua nodded, carrying the sleeping Gon off the couch and into the bedroom.  Due to the tiring day, everything was out the second their faces hit their pillows.

I know this is less than usual and once again the ending is shit. I really need to emprove my endings .
