~Chapter Twenty-six~

It was a cool fall morning, Killua and Gon were hanging out with Gon's friends for morning break. After that whole incident was explained, the four had actually started to get along.

The two laughed at Killua's story when they first heard it, but they accepted the boy's apology right after.

After about two weeks of the four being friends, Carlos and Kayden caught on pretty fast that Killua and Gon were definitely more than friends.

I mean, it's quite obvious. All the hickeys Gon returns with when he and Kil get left alone for a few minutes. The hand holding, always being very close to one another.

Killua always laughed at the memory, how they found out.

~ One Month Ago ~

Carlos, Kayden, and Gon tossed the football around while Killua stood next to Gon. The four were talking about which teachers were the weirdest, and how their houses would most likely look.

"Honestly, Mr.Wing seems like he would live in a huge mansion all by himself!" Carlos chuckled. The other three nodded.

They discussed it for about two minutes until Kayden had to use the restroom, Carlos tagging along to get himself some water.

And since Killua and Gon were alone at this moment, a smirk grew on Kils face. The four were playing the area that Killua and Gon had been to pretty often. The empty place with no cameras and two brick walls covering their surroundings.

Killua quickly gave Gon a few kisses and love bites until he heard the boys approaching. Everytime Carlos and Kayden returned from leaving the two alone, Gon's face would always be red and Killua's with a dirty smirk.

The first to suspect the activities was Carlos. He had seen plenty of romance movies to know what was going on. But if the two didn't share it themselves, he figured to keep his suspicions to himself.

Another day had passed, The four were sitting in the grass during lunch as almost everyone else was in the cafeteria. This time they were talking about jobs, saving money to move out after highschool.

"I might work as a cashier. It's pretty easy money," Gon said as he lay himself on Killua. Kil stroked the boys hair. "I agree with Gon. It would also be smarter to choose a simple job to prevent stressing ourselves out with school," Killua replied.

Carlos eyed the two, if they were just friends they have a very close relationship. Kayden nodded. "Yeah that is true, but growing up sucks!" He groaned. The three agreed with his comment.

But as Killua scooted Gon closer to himself, Carlos had to ask. "This is pretty random, but are you two like, a thing?" Carlos asked. Kayden glanced at Carl, then the two boys. "Oh, I see it now! You guys are pretty close friends," He said.

Gon hid his red face between his hands, Killua smirked. "You guys caught on pretty fast.." Kil said as he lay his head against Gon's. "I mean it's obvious really. You two are always touching legs or arms, I could tell there was something ever since the apology!" Carlos said with a chuckle.

~Back in the Present~

The bell rang, and everyone said goodbye as they headed to class. Killua enjoyed having a friend group more than he thought he would.

A few hours had passed, Gon and Killua were in art class together. They were goofing off a bit on the art project, getting paint all over each other's faces, being cautious and avoiding the teacher. Every now and then the teacher would cast a glance at the boys, but they would both stop their actions and pretend to be all serious when they sensed her stare.

They had art class right before lunch, so the two didn't care about getting messy. They could always wash the paint off in the restroom. With all the goofing off Killua and Gon barely even did any painting.

"We should probably get started on the project," Killua said laughing as he wiped his paint covered brush on Gon's nose. Gon nodded with a smile, cleaning his brush off in the cup of water. "What should we paint?" Gon asked as he pulled the blank paper near the two.

Killua looked at the paper as he thought. It had pretty good space, so the best idea would be to paint some sort of landscape. "Can you draw out a fox outline? Maybe we could go with some sort of forest scape," Kil suggested. Gon smiled. "Yeah! Drawing animals is my favorite. So I draw and paint the base?" Killua nodded to the question.

They got to work right away, knowing they wasted an awful amount of time. Killua painted out the structure of the trees and land, as Gon did a few foxes and the sky. They surprisingly got alot done in the remaining time. "Alright class, clean up. We will use tomorrow as our last day for this project. And remember this is worth twenty percent of your grade, use all the techniques I taught you!" The teacher exclaimed as everyone started packing.

"We should go wash the paint off our faces," Killua said with a chuckle. So the two headed into the restroom to wash off all the dry paint. It didn't take long for Kayden and Carlos to find them. "Woah what happened?" Kayden said as he laughed at the mess.

"Art class with Gon," Killua said as he scrubbed the paint he had placed on Gon's nose. Carlos glanced at the two with a smirk. "Aren't you two being a tad bit too touchy on school grounds?" He said in a teacher-like tone.

Killua scoffed at the comment then laughed. The four headed out into their usual spot once Killua and Gon finished cleaning themselves up.

They all started talking about jobs once again, it was their last year of highschool so mentioning the topic was pretty common. "Maybe we should all get a part time job, I mean it's the second month of school so it would be smart." Killua mumbled. The others nodded in agreement, then started talking about which places were hiring students.

But before the group could get too far into this the bell rang, and they split up to head out to their last classes of the day. All this future talk was sunken in on everybody, college was about half a year away.

~Time Skip~

The long day was finally over, Killua and Gon said goodbye to their friends before heading home. Killua had a random thought as the two grabbed hands "Hey Gon?" the boy asked.

Gon glanced up to meet Killua's eyes. "Hm?" he hummed in reply. Killua blushed slightly as he asked his question. "You wanna go on a date this weekend? We haven't really gotten out by ourselves yet..," He said his sentence in a whisper, but it was loud enough for Gon to hear.

He smiled at the blue eyes, squeezing the hand that lay in his. "Of course!" He exclaimed. Killua blushed at the boy's smile and turned his glance to the ground. "You're so embarrassing," he mumbled. Gon chuckled in reply.

Not too long after, they made it to the house. "Ugh, I have way too much homework!" Killua groaned while throwing himself on Gon's bed. The boy joined Kil on the bed with a sigh. "Same. Wanna start right now to get it over with?" Gon asked, already opening his bag. Killua nodded and started grabbing his own work.

The two lay stomach flat against the bed, Killua's leg lay atop of Gon as they started their assignments. The light that drifted through the curtains soon drained out and made the room completely dark besides the tv that lay a small amount of light.

The two continued to work as they took in the warmth of each other.
