A New Friend

~Chapter Thirty-Six~

It was the next day Kurapika and Gon were in the kitchen talking as Kura made lunch. Leorio had left for work and Killua was still asleep, not even bothering to get out of bed for breakfast.

"I know it's still quite early in the month, but maybe we should go Christmas shopping. I get paid tomorrow," Kurapika mentioned. Gon nodded in agreement as he grabbed his phone to check the time. "Is Killua still asleep? You should wake him up," Kurapika said while getting a few plates. Gon nodded as he got off the chair, setting his phone down before heading to the room.

Gon entered the room, closing the door behind him before walking up to Killua who was still fast asleep on the bed. "Killuaaa," he groaned as he threw himself onto the sleeping boy. "Noo!" Killua groaned back, instantly pushing Gon off him and onto the floor. "You have to wake up," Gon said as he tugged the blankets off of Killua.

Killua sat up glaring at Gon who was still on the floor. "I'm up," he mumbled rubbing his eyes, irritated to be woken so early. At least, early to him. Gon stood up and sat next to Killua, laying his head on his lap and looking up into those blue eyes. "Hi," he said with a grin. Killua rolled his eyes playfully as he hit Gon in the face with a pillow. Gon laughed just laying there with the pillow still on him. "We should go into the kitchen now," Gon said after a few seconds of silence, pushing the pillow off. Killua nodded and the two got out of bed.

The two head out into the kitchen where lunch was already sitting on the table, Kurapika washing the pan he was using. As Kurapika joined the two at the table Killua noticed a ring on the blonde's finger. "Since when did you wear jewelry?" He asked completely clueless, forgetting the fact Leorio had literally hid everything in his closet the week before. Both Gon and Kurapika gave a blank stare at the boy. "Hello, are you even awake yet? Leorio proposed! Why else would the ring be on my left hand?" He asked as Gon started laughing at the dumb boy sitting next to him.

Killua nodded as he processed the sentence. "Oh.. wait what?!" He said after a few minutes of silence, it finally hit him. Kurapika gave another glare at the boy. "What time did you go to bed?" Kurapika asked. Killua shrugged, so the blonde turned his gaze to Gon who was already finished with his food. "I dunno, we came home around one last night. Killua passed out pretty quickly though," Gon said while getting up to wash his plate. "What were you guys doing out that late?" Killua groaned at all the questions being asked, Kurapika never really knew when to stop being such a mom.

Gon shrugged before replying. "After Carlos and Kayden went home, me and Killua stayed on the beach a little longer. We sorta lost track of time though.." He said with a chuckle, turning the faucet off as he finished washing his dish. Once the other two finished eating, Kurapika washed his plate as Killua left his lazily in the sink. He joined Gon on the couch as Kurapika went into his room to change for work.

Gon placed his head on Killua's shoulder as the two watched TV. Killua almost fell asleep until a loud advertisement came up, causing him to jump a bit. Typical. He thought as he fixed his hair, Gon laughing a little at how jumpy the boy was. Killua reached for the remote and skipped the ad so the TV could continue playing whichever stupid show was on at the moment.

Kurapika was out of his room and by the front door, grabbing his keys and wallet before saying goodbye to the lazy pair on the couch. Gon was on his phone and as Killua looked at the screen he noticed the date said monday. "Wait- Shouldn't we be at school?" Killua said, sitting up. "Oh crap I forgot about that.. We can't keep skipping Killua. I'm sure the office will let us in if we write a late note in Kurapika's handwriting," Gon said, as if that was an easy task. Killua groaned as he dramatically and slowly slid down to the floor. Gon rolled his eyes at the boy as he grabbed him by the hands and started dragging him into the room.
