Chapter 3

Bucky's POV...

From the second I heard her boots clicking against the floor while we waited in the living room, I knew she was going to be trouble. What I didn't know was that the person accompanying the sound would be so breathtakingly gorgeous. She was on the short side with long brown hair and dark eyes. Her outfit was all black and she managed to look stunning and badass all at the same moment. I was taken with her long before she even noticed me in the room. For a moment I was so stunned by her presence and the way she carried herself that I almost missed Fury saying it. "Mia Stark."

The others confirmed what I was wondering. She was Tony's daughter whom he knew about but had failed to mention to seemingly anyone in the room. Even Banner didn't know about her and they were friends. Her already tense demeanor changed when Tony entered the room and sat down. "She's joining the team, Stark." Fury stated blankly

Tony apparently didn't know his daughter was coming to join the team and it seemed like for good reason. Great, not only did I have to put up with Tony but I had to put up with his spoiled daughter who was likely a massive brat who'd never worked for anything in her life. A wave of anger washed over me as I thought of Tony. "Isn't one Stark enough, do we really need two of them? I think we've got enough with one conceited big-headed Stark." I snipped at Fury as I crossed my arms tightly

The way her eyes explored across me, taking in my appearance and letting her eyes linger did two things to me. First, it made my blood boil but it also made me interested. I'd just been a complete dick and she was still checking me out. Oh, shut up, Barnes. We don't need two moody super soldiers either but here you are." Tony snipped right back, not missing a beat

I turned my gaze back to Mia who was still watching me closely until Thor kissed her hand. As much as I wanted to hate her for even being related to Tony, I was intrigued by her. She didn't seem too fond of her father but her attitude reflected his. My best guess is that this woman is an absolute princess and utterly useless on missions. "What do you do?" Natasha asked her and I had to admit my curiosity peaked

"Which one should I tell them about Tony?" He was silent. It was just like him to have nothing to say when someone was asking him something he didn't want to be asked. "I have my own suit but I can also manipulate energy."

She raised her hand and seemingly with just the movement of a few fingers, she had the lights flickering. So Stark not only has a daughter he told no one about but he has a daughter with powers that he hid from the world and from his team, his "family". I listened intently as Wanda explained what she should be able to do with her powers and when Tony scolded her for using her powers. Of course, he'd frown upon his child being different. "Great, we'll have a party tonight then. I'll see everyone at 8," Tony announced

I groaned, there was no way I'm going to another stupid Stark party and especially not one to celebrate little Stark showing up. "Bucky could you show her since it's right beside your own?" Fury asked but I knew it wasn't really a request but more a demand

"Why not." I shrugged at his request since I truly couldn't care less, I was going back to my room anyways

She watched me as I pushed off the wall and offered her my right hand. "I'm Bucky and apparently I'm your neighbor so follow me."

"It's nice to meet you." her voice was softer now that she wasn't speaking to Tony

At first, I made small talk but she wasn't very responsive until she asked me if I was new to the team since I was by myself. Just like a Stark to assume someone they don't know must be a nobody. For half a second I wanted to tell her if she needed anything that I'd be right next door but I ended up telling her not to need anything from me. My icing on the cake was rolling my eyes at her and calling her "your majesty Stark". I wanted to pretend I didn't hear what she said when she closed her door but I was close enough that I did. "I see why they call him the Winter Soldier."
