Chapter 59

Bucky's POV...

It's been three months since Mia died and we've done a lot of damage to Hydra in that time but it never feels like enough. All I can do is throw myself into our missions and try my best not to think about her or what we could've had. Which is impossible when everything reminds me of her still. My bed doesn't smell like her anymore but I still go to her room and smell her clothes or her perfume. I've even used her shampoo once or twice just because I miss the smell of her hair. We're all sitting up in a meeting to talk more about Hydra when we heard Friday talk over us. "Sir there is someone at the door."

"Who is it Friday?" Tony asked

"I'm not sure, they are in rough shape. Would you like me to call emergency services?"

"Yes and show me the footage from the door."

"Sir I think...I believe it's miss Stark."

The footage showed up in front of us and all of us just stared. It was hard to tell because they were a mess but I knew immediately, it was her. "That's Mia." I breathed

"There's no way." Sam added

"I know there's no way but I would recognize her anywhere."

"Friday is there audio?"

"Yes, let me play it."

The voice was barely able to be heard and it was rough but I knew it was her. "Friday it's me, open the door. It...it's Mia."

"Oh my God." Nat said

Tony looked frozen but I got up and started running down the stairs toward her. He must've had Friday let her in because she was hobbling through the doorway. I got there just in time to catch her as she started to fall down. "Woah baby, I've got you."

"Bucky?"

"Yeah, Mia it's me. You're safe now, I've got you."

I wanted to cry, I wanted to hug her or kiss her but she looked like she was barely alive so I just picked her up. "Are you real?"

"Yes I am, are you? You're the one who's been dead for three months."

"Hydra took me and I managed to escape. I've been trying to get back here for days, maybe weeks."

"Why didn't you call?"

"I couldn't remember anyone's number. They...they scrambled my brain a lot."

"It's okay, you're home now."

"I don't...I don't feel well."

"We're going to get you to a doctor, just relax."

That was about the time that I realized that she was bleeding and badly. Tony came down the stairs looking like he's seen a ghost. "Oh shit, it's really her."

"It is but she needs medical attention now."

"Get her outside, the ambulance is on their way to take her."

"Daddy?" She asked softly

"I'm right here Mia, I'm right here. You're safe."

I carried her outside to wait and they quickly got her loaded up. "Go with her, I'll meet you there." Tony told me

I wasn't going to fight because there was no way that I was going to let her out of my sight. She was barely conscious on the way to the hospital but she occasionally squeezed my hand a little. "Hang on baby, we're almost there."

She couldn't respond because she had an oxygen mask on but she opened her eyes a little to look at me. "I love you Mia, I'm sorry I didn't say it sooner."
