Chapter 50

"Are you insane?" Natasha whisper loudly

"Maybe a little but I think I can get the training out of his head but to do it, I need to see the machines they use and the information they have. Then I need to make sure they're all extinct so he can finally breathe easy and not worry about it."

"What brought this on? Why now?"

"Well I just found out he still had a set of trigger words that could make him kill us all still in his head and we're being followed. He thinks he recognizes the guy from Hydra."

"This is a crazy idea."

"I love him, I'll do anything to protect him. Surely you can understand that right?"

I caught her eyes flicking to someone behind me but I didn't turn quick enough to see who and I had other things to deal with right now other than Nat's crush. "I do but Mia, this is a suicide mission."

"Not if we get some help and we do our research first. If anyone can help me get in and out of a Hydra base alive, it's you. Plus I've got my powers to help."

"You're still learning how to use them, we can't rely on that."

"I can spend more time learning to use them, I will ask Wanda for more help but I've got a better grip on it than you think."

"I mean I've seen you use them when you're pissed or do small things but you have to be able to do more while you are calm than you can mad. Otherwise, you could lose control and hurt yourself or someone else."

"You're right but I can control it."

"Show me then, open the door without breaking it, turn the lights off without blowing the bulbs, and put Pietro on his knees."

"Easy."

"I'm not done, do it while fighting with me and protecting yourself."

"Okay less easy."

"I'm not going to hold back, I will actually put you on your ass if you don't protect yourself."

"Seeing as you already can beat me even when I'm fully focused, I'm probably going to get myself hurt but here we go."

She stepped back and I took that moment to feel all of the energy in the room, making sure I knew who I was putting on their ass. Wanda was watching us from where she was across the training room and I knew, she knew I was about to hurt her brother but she seemed to be smirking slightly. Natasha threw the first punch and we were quickly going at one another as if we were mortal enemies. Compared to other times we've trained this was much harder and I was struggling to keep up with her and focus on the task at hand. "Use the energy." Wanda called

I realized we were attracting a decent amount of attention with the way Nat was flipping around and kicking and shit to take me down. By now the door to the training room was early and I had the lights slowly going off. I'm not sure how but suddenly had a ball of energy floating near my knee and I decided to take the risk. I wasn't as good at flipping or any of that as Nat since I usually fight in a metal suit but I jumped with one foot onto the ball of energy and used the height to jump onto her shoulders. The lights turned off as Nat tried to get me off her shoulder without success especially when the sound of Pietro yelping startled her. "Mia, think about what we talked about." I heard Wanda's voice in my head and it almost scared me but then I remembered she's magic or some shit

Last week we'd been discussing if it was possible for me to control people with my powers by controlling their brainwaves. I put my hands on Nat's hand while we struggled and I focused on making her stop. My eyes were closed so I didn't know it was working until she was on her knees and Steve was yelling.
