Chapter 54

Mia's POV...

I'd never seen Bucky cry or even get tears in his eyes but here he was crying over me. Crying because I almost died and he wasn't able to help me. He saved my life, he ran in blind and saved me. I'd taken my suit off to use my powers to get through a door but while I was doing it, someone grabbed my wrist, and when I pulled away my bracelet went flying. It was a stupid mistake, one that almost cost me my life and one that almost broke Bucky. I could see it in his eyes when he told me I almost died, he looked like he was in so much pain. All I wanted was to save him, not hurt him. He and Tony were apparently not only getting along but agreeing to punish me by removing me from the compound. I dropped it for the first couple of days but now I've been cooped up in a hospital bed with Bucky always at my side and visits from everyone else. Now they were both back with me and behaving weirdly enough. "So we have to talk about something," I said

"Who?" Tony asked

"All of us. When I woke up you guys threatened to take me out of the compound. I'm not going anywhere."

"Yes, actually you are. At least for a while, you need to leave and either go home to your mother or get your own place." Tony told me sternly

"Buck, help me out here please."

"I agree, Mia. You almost got yourself killed, I think it's time for you to take a step back."

"I don't understand, you don't want me here?" I looked directly at Bucky, tears stinging in my eyes

"It's not that, I swear it's not. I've been looking for apartments for you that are close enough that you can see everyone and come to parties still. You're not getting rid of me that easily."

"I don't want to go, I was just starting to feel at home here. Please don't make me leave."

"We can't trust you." Tony's voice was blunt and he wasn't even trying to make me feel better

"I won't plan missions behind your backs, I will unlock all of my files for both of you and Nat and Fury and even Steve. Just let me stay."

"You're going to go after Hydra, I know you."

"I think we should all work together to take them down. They're dangerous and they've proven it time and time again. I get that the team name is the Avengers but maybe we should take care of a threat before it's something that needs avenged. My reason might be revenge for everything they did to you but they literally tried to use giant ships to kill a ton of people they thought were threats."

"I don't know, Mia." Tony answered

"If we got everyone in on this, we could probably take them down. I'll even play nice with Sharon if we need extra help. I'm serious guys, if everyone works together we can take them down for good."

"Mia..." Bucky started

"Please, I know I went about this wrong and I'm sorry but I'm serious. Don't kick me out, I'll do whatever you both ask if it means I can stay here. I don't want to leave." I cried

"Break up with him." Tony threw out

"Does this seem like the time for that?" Bucky huffed

"Please Daddy, I'm serious." My words were barely audible as I sobbed while Bucky tried to comfort me

Me accidentally calling him daddy must've caught his attention because he huffed and came to stand next to me rather than sit in the corner like he had been. "We'll have a team meeting about it but I'm not making any promises. I have to know that you're safe and not putting yourself at risk sweetie."

"I won't, I will wait for everyone else to be ready and I'll do what I'm told. I'll even listen if you put Steve in charge. Just don't make me leave, please."
