Bucky's POV...

I knocked on Mia's door again and still got no response. She hadn't spoken to anyone since her fight with Tony earlier then our fight and that is understandable but I just need to know she's ok. "Mia, please open the door and just talk to me, doll. I get that you're upset but just let me in." My voice was begging and I didn't care that it was any more

After several more knocks and attempts, I decided I was just going to go in. "Mia I'm coming in, yell at me if you want but I need to know you're okay."

I got the door open and to my surprise, she wasn't in there. "Friday, where is Mia?"

"Mia is on the roof of the building."

I took out my phone and called her while I headed toward the elevator. She answered on the last ring. "What do you want?" She snipped but I could still hear the tears in her voice

"To make sure you're okay, doll. Friday said you're on the roof, why are you up there?"

"Because I can't do this anymore, Buck."

"Do what?''

"Any of it. I'm so tired of feeling unwanted and unloved. I'm just a giant disappointment to everyone I love and none of them love me back."

"What are you talking about, Mia?"

"I don't want to be here anymore."

"Okay, if you don't want to live in the compound that's fine. I will help you find somewhere."

"No, it's not the compound. I don't want to be alive anymore. I miss my brother, he was the only one who ever truly loved me and wanted me around."

"Please don't say that, do not talk like that."

"I'm sorry Bucky, you'll have to find a new plaything."

I started to protest that she was not a plaything to me, that she was so much more but she hung up. Without a second of hesitation, I started running up the stairs, taking them two at a time. My heart was pounding, she was planning to jump off the roof and I didn't know if I'd be able to stop her. I threw the door open and I saw her standing on the ledge of the building with her arms wrapped around herself while she cried. She turned to look at me when the door closed and I took off running to her. I grabbed her waist and pulled her off the ledge and against my chest. "Let me go, let me jump and end it all Bucky. I don't want to do this anymore."

"Baby please don't say that, you have no idea how wanted you are."

She fought against me and tried to break my hold but it didn't work and she ended up collapsing to the ground. I went with her and pulled her into my lap as she sobbed. "No one wants me around, not my dad, not my mom, not the team, and not even you."

"That's not true. Tony loves you, he's just an ass most of the time and the team loves you."

"No, Natasha wants to change me, Steve hates me so much that he hit me, Clint thinks I'm a whore, Wanda just likes that someone else has powers, Thor thinks I'm a child, Banner thinks that too and you, you just want to sleep with me."

"That's not true, I want things with you that I can't let myself have." She tried to pull away from me again but I pulled her back so she was straddling my lap. "Just listen. For once in your life please just fucking listen to me. You are not my plaything or hookup okay? Princess, you're my best friend and I want you. Every time we're apart, even if it's only for a short time, I miss you like crazy and I want to come back to you. You are everything to me and I can't let you hurt yourself. I'm sorry I don't know how to tell you what I'm feeling but I'm scared because I've never felt like this. You deserve better than me but you always choose me."
