Chapter 36

Mia's POV... 

I woke up in the dark in a bed that wasn't my own and I immediately began to panic. The last thing I remembered was Clint offering to take me to my room but then taking me toward his. Just as I started to get out of bed to start running, Bucky came out of the bathroom and noticed I was awake. "Hey, it's okay. You're safe." he assured as he turned on the light

"Why am I in here?"

He sat down by my feet and rested his hand on my lower leg. "You disappeared last night and they told me you went with Clint and Mia I was terrified. He had you in his room and you were barely even conscious but he had your dress pushed up and he was trying to touch you. I stopped him but if I had been even a few minutes later..." his voice trailed off and he broke eye contact with me

"Thank you. I remember him offering to take me to my room and I tried to say I was fine, but he insisted on it, and I was so drunk. He made me go to his room. When I realized where we were going, I tried to run but he just grabbed me and dragged me with him. Did he..."

"No, Mia he didn't do anything to you. If he had then he'd be dead, and I'd probably be in jail."

"You didn't kill him?"

"No, Steve came in behind me and stopped me."

"Why am I in here with you?"

"I tried to take you to your room but you asked me to bring you in here. You went right to sleep and I've been on the couch watching you."

"You didn't sleep in the bed with me or change me out of the dress?"

"No, I didn't know if you would wake up and be scared so I didn't try to change your clothes or sleep beside you just in case."

"Thank you Buck, you saved me."

I picked up his hand and rested my cheek against his palm while I took deep breaths. "You don't need to thank me, I would never let anyone hurt you or violate you. You're safe as long as I'm around Mia."

"I should get more sleep, my head is killing me."

"That sounds like a good idea, I can bring some breakfast and pain meds to your room in a few hours."

"Can I stay here?"

"Of course."

"Will you lay with me?"

"Yeah, do you want a shirt to wear?"

"Please."

He brought me a shirt while I took the dress off so I was just left in my underwear and his t-shirt as I crawled back into his bed. I watched him take off his shirt and change into sweats before getting into bed next to me. He automatically pulled me closer to him but I decided to crawl on top of him before I fell asleep listening to the sound of his heart beating. 

When I woke up Bucky was still dead asleep underneath me and Alpine was right beside us so I just laid there and pet her. "Hi sweet thing, it's been a while since I've seen you. Your dad is a giant pain in my ass but I love him anyways, just don't tell him I said that. It would only send him running." I told her softly

She chirped at me and nuzzled against my hand. I lay there in silence just petting her until I felt Bucky stir underneath me. The first place his hands went was to my sides but under my shirt so he was grabbing my bare waist. His touch lit my skin on fire just like it always does, even when his metal hand is cold. "Good morning Buckaroo." 

"Good morning doll, how long have you been up?"

"About an hour. I was just hanging out with Alpine while you slept."
