Chapter 56

A month later... 

I know it was me who wanted to take Hydra down but about the time we'd been in the 10th meeting, I was regretting it. So far we've managed to take down six Hydra bases without any issues. No one will admit it but we're all exhausted and we could probably use a break but we've got our sights set on their biggest base next. After everything we've done, it seems they're hiding out there for now. It'll probably never be the end but if we can take care of this base, it'll be a while before we hear from them again. The plan is to keep going, keep looking, and keep taking them down until they are extinct. We've been doing things in probably a questionable manner for the Avengers but it's Hydra so we decided it was worth it. Someone has been retrieving the data from each base while the rest of us load it up with explosives then boom. We've all agreed no prisoners so they don't have more reason to come after us. Bucky doesn't let me out of his sight on missions or otherwise and if I wasn't so hopelessly in love with him I'd probably get sick of it. But instead, we spend our days together doing whatever we want and our nights rolling around together. Let's be honest, we fuck wherever we want and whenever we want. It's probably a problem but it's a good problem to have. The thing that scares me is no matter how much time we spend together I still don't get sick of him. We actually go on dates and do fun things outside of the compound. Tony is being nicer to Bucky although sometimes they still fuss at each other. Pepper wants us to all have dinner together but I feel like that's a horrible plan.

Steve and I are getting along, it turns out he found my suit after Bucky found me and he returned it after our conversation in the kitchen. That saved me from having to rebuild my entire suit from nothing. Although against Tony's will, I've not been wearing it during missions. Bucky and Wanda have been helping me learn more about my powers and control them. She and I actually make a great team and I've gotten pretty good at some things. My newest party trick is essentially reading auras. I'm not sure what each thing means but everyone's energy has a different color and look to it. Well everyone except me, mine has no color which confuses me but it makes Bucky chuckle because he was almost black the first time I did it to him. Really it's a deep blue but he couldn't tell and it shines brighter than everyone else's.

Speaking of my cranky super soldier, I still haven't told him that I love him and he hasn't said it either. He still tries to pull away occasionally when things get intense but I get it. It's not like he's had a lot of time to be in relationships or fall in love. I've at least had time to date and experiment. Can't say I've ever been in love and if I had it was definitely not the way I love Buck. That stubborn, grumpy, horny bastard consumes my every waking thought and most of the time my dreams too. He's my home, he makes me feel safe and desired. That's more than I've ever had. We're currently in a meeting and I've got Bucky's hand moving up the inside of my thigh. He doesn't care that Tony is across from him or that everyone we know is around this table with us. I keep trying to push his hand away but he's determined. By the time the meeting ended, his fingers were teasing the edge of my panties. Everyone filed out but he didn't let me leave. "Bucky, let's go back to your room."

Part of me wanted to protest but it's Bucky so he got his way and before I knew it, he was ball deep inside of me while I laid on the table.
